Thinking about Cyborg Sun's concept of Omniversus, if it were real, then pretty much any other video game wouldn't really be "needed" in the mainstream. It has every character ever, in every genre ever, taking place in every location ever. Sure there would probably be some indie releases here and there, but any big budget game would most definitely be outcompeted by Omniversus.
