  • Today I found out there are actually people who say Castlevania shouldn’t have been in Smash because it’s a “dead franchise.”

I previously thought those people only existed in nightmares
Now people will stop complaining about Nintendo having one game for the second half of 2020... And start complaining about TWO games for the second half of 2020!
Really can’t tell if I want quarantine to end soon or if I don’t

sure have fun being home the rest of your life cause corona isn't going anywhere just like the normal flu, the faster the world just accept it and move on without restrictions the faster we can forget this bull**** ever happened. because the longer they wanna keep people restricted the more the resistance will happen worldwide and eventually things have to go normal otherwise they will get all their people against them.

Right so there’s been a massive spike of hundreds of people dying from “just a flu”

You’re playing with peoples lives here, so just take your tinfoil hat off, put on a mask, and realize what’s going on in the world. PEOPLE DIE FROM THIS

Not everyone does, but enough people do to make this a global emergency

Anyone remember the show America’s Funniest Home Videos? It’s like... every episode is an entire hour of Karens recording children falling down stairs and crying and then they get a bunch of money. How did anyone ever enjoy that show?

It was mostly a show to have playing in the background when at family events growing up. It's okay, but I'd certainly rather watch it than Tosh 2.0. Not sure if I'd call it a bunch of Karens, but then again I haven't watched it in a few years. I do know the show was directly inspired by an 1980s Japanese TV show with a similar premise if not outright localized.

I used to like AFV, but I got tired of it. It was the usual cute pet/baby videos that I can find anywhere on YouTube. Especially since Alfonso Ribero took over, I noticed a shift towards child oriented videos. I'd recommend World's Dumbest instead. While the content can be kinda brutal/risqué sometimes, there's a much higher chance of having a legitimately good laugh. Drunk Santa was one of my favorites.

Melee, SM64 and Ocarina of Time... the Big Three Nintendo games I wish people would stop looking at with rose tinted glasses

As much as I love those games, I wholeheartedly agree with you. People talk about those 3 games too much especially SM64 and OOT. Swanky Box seems to just talk about those two games when bringing up videos of N64 titles. Sometimes people act like SM64 and OOT are the only games on the N64 when they're so many other great games on the console that either don't get as much love or is just overlooked entirely. Majora's Mask I think is a better game than Ocarina of Time but critics and bunch of people would disagree. The Goemon games I would say are some of the best games on the console along with Nintendo and Rare's games and people would say "What are the Goemon games?". It's annoying how much attention SM64 and OOT get's as much as I love those games.

No critic worth their salt would pick MM over OoT. OoT was great for its time and had high production values, but didn't do a whole lot at the end of the day. MM's time system is a work of art that made the world more alive than most modern "open world" games and that's before getting into how it weaved its story. Time literally never stops in MM. It did pretty much everything OoT did and far more and there hasn't been another Zelda game quite like it as far as pure design ambition goes, except maybe BOTW, and to a lesser extent, Skyward Sword.

Star Fox 64 was pretty good too. I don't know if I'd call it underrated, but sheer replayability and tight design alone puts it above all of the "greats" and even though everyone seems to like it, I never see it emphasized that much when talking about the N64 era, other than memes. I can't think of many games that are so simple, yet so effective, even among arcade games.
One time when I was a kid, me and my friends were at school and playing some game where we pretended to be Super Smash Bros characters. I distinctly remember one kid was playing as his original character and when we told him "Hey! Your character isn't in Super Smash Bros!" he replied with "Yeah well my dad works at Nintendo and one day I'm going to work there and make a game with him, and then he'll be added in the future!"

So there ya have it, folks... insider information on the next Smash character! He'll be added... eventually
People criticize Nintendo for not having that much legacy content, but Square Enix not allowing their games to be put on SNES Online really makes them look a lot worse

It feels like ages since SE re-released the Nintendo-console-originating numbered Final Fantasy games. Just because re-releasing FFIV was oversaturation doesn't mean they have to stop re-releasing everything else before the PSX era.

At least we got some of the SNES SaGa games and the original versions of the original Mana games out of the deal...
It would be pretty funny if there was a Project X Zone 3, which has characters from light-hearted, E rated games. Who wouldn’t wanna see anime Mario and Luigi beating up some enemies from .hack or whatever?
Back when it was revealed that a lot of pro Smash players were messed up people who have sexually assaulted in the past, I kinda hate how the general reaction was
“Oh no! This is a terrible thing to have happened to the Smash community!”

Ummm... No. It was a terrible thing to have happened to the VICTIMS. What’s worse? Being sexually assaulted or not being able to watch ZeRo with a clear conscience?

People were too shocked to stand with the victims in that situation.
And while it was sad to have so many people exposed like this, we should have congratulated the people who stood up, and celebrated the fact that these people cannot commit such terrible acts and escape the law using the “shield of popularity” anymore.

    But, we didn’t...
I wonder if any other challenger packs will come with the same “Holy **** that’s a lot” that came with Terry, only with spirits instead of music
Smash has a LOT of spoilers for Xenoblade chronicles in it

Smash's spoiler policy is all over the place. They're happy to spoil Xenoblade, but they tread on eggshells when it comes to Mother - Claus' Spirit Battle has a pretty direct reference to the Masked Man, but Masked Man's Spirit Battle makes no reference to Claus, even through you're pretty much guaranteed to fight the Claus Spirit first given the Masked Man Spirit, and its' appearance on the Spirit Board, are unlocked by beating WoL, where Claus is one of the penultimate Spirit battles - why not just make the Masked Man Spirit enhance to a Claus Spirit if you're gonna spoil the game anyway?

I don’t think it’s too big of a deal to spoil Xenoblade-it is a relatively old game. I still hear FFVII spoilers, but that doesn’t mean I’m not beating the remake. That’s how good of a game it is. However it is odd if they’re launching a definitive edition of Xenoblade to bring back old fans and bring in new ones, while also spoiling the game in Smash.

I mean DKC2's OST might not be as iconic as DKC's OST, but it's just as memorable. You'll never forget about the music in that game even if you don't remember the names of the songs.
If Sonic Mania 2 ever gets made, they should take elements from the Sonic Advance series
So today I found out it's illegal to name a disease after a country because it causes unnecessary stigma. So something like "The Spanish Flu" can't be the name of a disease anymore, because it caused a lot of people to blame Spanish people for the outbreak.

And guess what the American president calls coronavirus... Yeah, we should probably hold him accountable for, y'know... breaking the law
For some reason I cry whenever I hear the Super Mario Galaxy version of the Toad Brigade theme. And yes, just the Super Mario Galaxy version

As much as I want to include Super Famicom games, I won't for this list, mostly because of how many JRPG's are Famicom exclusive, and it would take way too much time to finish them all. So thanks for the suggestions, but just the North American releases, please.

(I will play those Japan exclusive games sometime after, though :D)
It’s funny when someone uses wifi as an adjective to describe characters online in Smash, like “wifi sonic” or “wifi donkey kong” when it’s to complain about the character

I’m pretty sure the term is “Sonic player online who’s better than you”
I hope people haven’t forgotten what Blizzard did. Overwatch 2 better fail
    Venus of the Desert Bloom
    Venus of the Desert Bloom
I’m torn as I have been a fan of Blizzard since the first Warcraft and I still love Warcraft, Diablo, Starcraft, and Overwatch despite the bad things the company has done. And you can’t even blame Activision on it since it’s within Blizzard’s division that it happened. All these games still has dedicated fans who still hold on not for the company but for the franchise they love. While I still play Overwatch, I do it to support the community and the players who enjoy it but not the company.

I know it gives them money in their pockets and what not which is why I’m torn between choosing to spend my money on games I have enjoyed and loved for years or even decades or using my money to purchase games from companies that I know aren’t involved in bad things. So yeah, while I do hope Overwatch 2 succeeds for the players; I also hope it doesn’t succeed for Blizzard. It’s my hope that Blizzard sees what it’s done and corrects itself; not for profits but for the fans,

I’m still going to speculate about Overwatch 2 and new Heroes coming.

I did not condone what Blizzard did to Blitzchung, but that's not going to stop me from playing a game that I enjoy. Hell, I hate EA, but love playing PvZ Heroes, as it's one of their most F2P friendly games. I just want Blizzard to realize their mistakes and improve from them. Though I did take a break during that time, since I got bored of competitive play. Also the Activision blame was totally unnecessary. It's not their fault they were Blizzard's conjoined twin during this incident. Well spoken, Venus of the Desert Bloom Venus of the Desert Bloom

Edit: Also Jeff Kaplan himself wasn't happy with Blitzchung being banned, and he's the one who created Overwatch. I still have a lot of respect for him.
If a Warioware game ever comes out for Nintendo switch, the title totally writes itself. Which do you prefer: Warioware: Switched or Warioware: Switch it Up?
