  • Ok I’ll admit it. I don’t know the answer to this.

Is this new Mario vs Donkey Kong game actually a real thing? Or is it just a rumor at the moment?
I’m going to try and get a bit of a debate going.

    Magic? Or Martial Arts?

    In my case, definitely Magic.
To say that Player’s Guides are a dying breed is an understatement. Those things have been buried 6 feet under for years.

But I do remember a funny bit from one talking about the last single player stage in Naruto Ultimate Ninja.

    The guide said:

“This is the hardest mission in the game. If you’ve figured out how to beat it, let us know! Nah we’re just kidding. Here’s how you beat it.”
Any fellow fans of DBZ Abridged here?

To those who answered yes, as we all know the series had to be canceled after the end of the Cell Saga and it's not coming back. Or at least........it's not coming back in the "proper" sense.

So this guy by the username of Totally Not Mark, who may or may not be a member of TeamFourStar (I don't actually know) has been doing a review of the Buu Saga in DBZ Proper and TFS has gotten in on the action and dropped a ton of clips for what would have been in the Buu Saga if DBZ Abridged continued.

And people have been doing compilations of those clips over DBZ footage. I know of at least 2 that were just posted today.

And as you'd expect, it's some good stuff.
Mario Wonder is looking pretty good.

Doesn't look like Wario and Waluigi will be playable like I wondered about though. Then again there is the possibility of DLC, but wouldn't they have to make the WA's play differently to justify that? Like new abilities or something?
I mentioned once before how the first series of videos ProJared was ever in was a Scrubs parody set in a game store instead of a hospital. And said store had the same trade in policies that real stores like GameStop have.

So in one episode where a customer tried to trade in 3 games that were in great condition, because they weren’t high demand games they didn’t have a high trade value. So the guy only got 5 dollars for them. Which he was not happy about.

Later on Jared ordered pizza for him and two buddies he was playing some games with. The pizza delivery guy was the same customer that traded in the games. The conversation went as follows.

    Pizza Guy - 85 Bucks

Jared - The receipt says 43

    Pizza Guy - But I say 85

Jared - Dude, you can’t just demand a higher price like that.

Pizza Guy - Why not? You gave me crap prices.

Jared - If you make me pay more than what I owe, then I can sue the company. And you.

After that the pizza guy relented and accepted the proper price. And as Jared was closing the door on the crying pizza guy, the Contra level clear jingle was playing.
Rito in Zelda are typically known for Archery. But they can still use swords and spears, and there is that one rejected pitch for a game with a Rito that would have used a boomerang.

But I think it would be cool to see a Rito using a Magic Rod. Like an upscaled version of the Tornado Rod from A Link Between Worlds.
Can the GBA be considered the only Nintendo system where the signature Mario game that debuted on the console was not a platformer?

The reason I ask is Mario vs. Donkey Kong. That’s a platformer that debuted on the GBA, but it is a spinoff platformer rather than a main series one. Then again so were both Super Mario Land games.

Plus, can Mario vs. Donkey Kong really be considered the signature Mario game that debuted on the GBA compared to Superstar Saga?
There was a statement made quite a number of years ago by people such as myself and PDMG involving Samurai Goroh and Takamaru.

The statement basically said “One or the other. Not both. We don’t need to include 2 Samurai”.

In the modern day I consider the wording of that to be a little flawed. If there exists a character that would be a solid addition and could stand out well from an already present Samurai than I don’t think there being a samurai in the game already should stop them from getting in.

But I would agree with the statement that if Takamaru is already there, Samurai Goroh doesn’t really have anything that would make him stand out next to Takamaru.
When it comes to Smash Bros, as with any game that can get competitive there are people out there who focus on obtaining victory too much. That being said, there's also a problem of the opposite.

I remember I was hanging out in a group once where there were a bunch of games to play and me and 3 other people were playing a few back to back rounds of Smash Wii U.

One of the other people had a winning streak going. They weren't being elitist or a sore winner about it. They knew we were all just there to have fun. The chips were just falling where they did.

However another one of these other people did not realize that whole thing of the chips just falling where they did. They were getting annoyed that the same person was winning over and over and eventually they decided to try and disable that player. You know that thing you can do of clicking on one of the colored player borders to turn them into a CPU or even just remove that player from participating in the match? That's what they did with the guy who had the winning streak.

The guy with said winning streak asked them "what the hell dude?" and the person who disabled them replied with "you can't keep winning all the time".

And I was just thinking "What's your deal? Yeah we're playing for fun but the goal of the game is to defeat the other players. Do you honestly expect anyone to just lose on purpose?"
You ever get the feeling that you’re playing a game wrong yet playing it right at the same time?

Sometimes I feel like that about Mario Party. My family grew up being pretty good sports about that series. You wouldn’t see any salt or rage coming from us and that led me to believing for a time that it was an unspoken rule of Mario Party that you played the mini-games properly even if it would give your opponent an advantage.

Not the most common of Mario Party mindsets as far as I can tell.
I feel like any dedicated Gundam fan would groan in disgust at my history with the franchise.

Gundam anime are most well known for being war anime that tend to be pretty dark. Like Gundam Wing and Gundam Seed.

But the only two Gundam series I’ve ever been really invested in are G Gundam, which is the one about a Gundam Martial Arts Tournament, and SD Gundam, the CG animated Chibi one that’s a lot more kid friendly.
    GolisoPower
    GolisoPower
Nothing wrong with liking those, I feel. Especially G Gundam, that's a "dumb-fun" kinda show.
    S
    StoicPhantom
Gundam really isn't Gundam without Tomino tbh. I've seen everything up to 00 (no SD Gundam) and the only good Gundam is the original, Victory, and X. I appreciate certain ones like Seed for personality even if its bad, but I've always felt other Gundams lifeless and mediocre.
If the next Smash game serves as enough of a reboot to change Yoshi from being a Yoshi Series character to a Mario Series character, than I wonder if that would cause Kamek to lose a lot of momentum in the speculation scene.
When asked the question of Pirates vs. Ninjas, some people answer something else entirely out of their own personal preference.

Some people say Samurai, some say Cowboys, I myself say Wizards, things like that.

If you’re one of the people who has a different answer to this question than Pirates or Ninjas, then what is your actual answer?
I’ve never actually been in a situation where I’ve had to say this, but I know that if I were in a situation where someone was being discriminatory towards an LGBT person or a person of color and they turned to me in hopes that I would back them up, what I would tell them is “Buddy I’m white as snow, straight as an arrow, and male as postage, but I still know what you’re doing is wrong.”

I’m proud of myself for thinking that. But I’m starting to wonder if I should add something about being cis to that saying since I am cisgender.

Problem is I can’t think of anything in that regard.
Not everyone has a problem with this, but there are some people out there who aren't a fan of how Pyra and Mythra got into Smash instead of their games main protagonist. And if I recall correctly Min Min sometimes receives a similar criticism.

But funnily enough, one could make the argument that Smash Bros. has been doing that sort of thing ever since Smash 64. Pikachu may be the mascot, but he's most certainly not the protag of Red & Blue.
This argument lost a ton of it's momentum when Ridley became playable. But the archenemy of Samus isn't the only character people have shot down in speculation due to being "too big".

Kraid and Hades come to mind, I saw someone say once that Pig Ganon is too big (I assume they were too focused on the size of Dark Beast Ganon in BOTW), and I myself wondered about Metal Face for a time until I saw him working just fine in a mod.

I do think there is such a thing as being too big in terms of being too long, like how even if you shrink down Rayquaza the way it's body elongates as it moves just doesn't flow right for a playable character, but otherwise I have been against the "too big" argument for a very long time.

And one of the most common points people who were on that side of the debate used was how Bowser was shrunken down for Mario Kart.

So if the roster of playable guest characters in the next Mario Kart game had some of those characters people have used this argument against, that would be really funny.
If you had to pick just 1 of these 2 Legendary Pokemon to be a boss in Smash Bros, which one would you pick? Ultra Necrozma or Eternatus?
I once played through Star Fox Command enough times to get all 9 endings.

Of those endings, there are 4 that I like, 4 that I don’t like, and the last one I could go either way on.

A perfect balance. That was a very unexpected discovery.
We all know that from a standpoint of specs, the N64 wasn't as advanced as the PS1.

But there are games out there to where at least some people feel that these limitations led to the N64 versions having a charm to them, or possibly some other aspects, that made them more appealing then the PS1 versions.

Do any of you have some examples you can name of this sort of thing?
I’m sure most of know of pizzadudemanguy and I’m willing to bet a lot of you know what Devil Fruits from One Piece do.

The reason I bring up both of these is because in an old Q&A video of his, PDMG said that if he could make a Devil Fruit, he’d make a pizza-pizza fruit. Basically a Logia type fruit like Aokiji’s Ice-Ice fruit, but the “element” you’d be conjuring and turning your body into is pizza.

And devil fruits are either loosely or directly based on real fruits depending on the fruit. You’ve probably figured out what I’m trying to say. This Pizza-Pizza Fruit would be a Pineapple ;)
I’ve seen a couple comments here and there that state the belief that Rauru should have been Link’s companion in Tears of the Kingdom like Navi in Ocarina of Time or Midna in Twilight Princess.

Do you guys think the game would have been better if they did this? Do you think it’s better that they didn’t? Or do you feel like the game would be just as good either way?
Would you rather go out for Pizza? Or for a Burger and Fries?
Back when Sticker Star had been released, but Color Splash hadn't even been announced, there was this guy I knew who liked both Sticker Star and Thousand Year Door who didn't quite understand the demand for a new game in TTYD's Style.

His reasoning was something along the lines of "TTYD is a great game. If they go back to that style how would they be able to top it?"

Looking back at this statement in the modern day, I feel like there's a couple flaws with it. I too believe TTYD to be a great game, but being a 2004 Gamecube Title surely there are at least some aspects that a newer entry in that style could improve upon right?
Golden Sun is a more obscure franchise, but one of it's most known aspects is that of the Four Elements.

Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, there's a reason why some people refer to Golden Sun as the closest thing we ever got to a good Avatar game.

Something that's not as known however due to the lower amount of people who played the series is that by the end of the 3rd and currently final game, the ideas of Light and Dark elements start to come up. The game ends on a cliffhanger before they can be truly delved into and there's nothing present for Light Psynergy or Dark Psynergy in terms of gameplay, but imagine if the series had continued long enough to incorporate this?

Makes you wonder what kinds of Psynergy Attacks and Summons, especially summons, they would have come up with.

And in the realm of Smash, part of Isaac's insane moveset potential is the fact that he can use Psynergy of any element depending on his equipment set up. If Light and Dark made it into the series, Isaac would have even more moveset potential than he already does. That's kind of crazy to think about.
Say that a Charizard holding the stone for it's Y Mega Evolution had a moveset consisting of Focus Blast, Dragon Pulse, Solar Beam, and 1 Fire Type Attack.

Which of these two fire attacks would you give to this Charizard? Fire Blast for higher power? Or Flamethrower for higher accuracy?
There was this one time I was playing a round of split the room from Jackbox Party Pack 5 and the scenario that came up was that the Final Fantasy 7 Remake was declared illegal but a friend introduced you to a black market that you could still buy a copy from, and then asked the players if they would risk significant jail time in order to get one.

With any game, not just FF7R, I feel like there are two types of people when it comes to answering that question.

The people who would say no because it’s just a game. So it’s not worth risking jail time over.

And the people who would say yes because they believe the decision to make the game illegal was stupid and/or unfair and would buy a copy on the black market in an attempt to rebel against this faulty law.

Which of the two would you guys be? I feel like I’d lean towards the “it’s just a game” answer myself.
    Should pizza boxes be round?
Does mainline Amy still have that overly obsessive thing for Sonic or did that kind of die off?
    MBRedboy31
    MBRedboy31
It’s mostly died off, or at least it’s a lot less than it used to be, yeah. IIRC she doesn’t obsess over Sonic at all in Frontiers for example.
    Janx_uwu
    Janx_uwu
She seems to be doing her own thing in Frontiers, but I don't think it'll ever change that she really likes sonic
    MBRedboy31
    MBRedboy31
Janx_uwu Janx_uwu The way that I see it / my headcanon is that Amy eventually realized that it is impossible for her to get into a relationship with Sonic and that she must respect his boundaries (Sonic values his freedom far too much to settle into a relationship with anyone, even if he does potentially have some feelings for Amy too) so she decided to divert all the love she has for him and all the energy she put toward that into helping the world in general. IIRC, she says in Frontiers that she wants to share her love with the world.

Maybe someday Sonic would grow up and be more interested in settling down and forming a relationship with someone, but it’s unlikely the games or other official media will ever go that far in the future (outside of a “what if?” timeskip thing, but I feel like Sega’s current guidelines wouldn’t allow that.)
Talk of more Nintendo movies since the Mario Movie came out isn’t anything new.

And if we’re talking a Zelda movie specifically, I would personally rather have an animated movie than a live action one.

That being said, I’m not sure the kind of animation that Illumination and similar studios are known to use really works for most Zelda games. Wind Waker Art Style ones sure. But all the others? I don’t know.

    What do you guys think?
When it comes to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, as far as I'm aware the fan favorite between the mascot legendaries seems to be Miraidon. AKA the Mascot Legendary for Violet.

So as someone who picked up the Scarlet Version, I'd like to ask. What are positives you have to say about that versions Mascot Legendary Koraidon? Be it advantages over Miraidon or just general points in Koraidon's favor.
Of the sages you recruit through the regional phenomena quests in Tears of the Kingdom, Tulin is the only one who's weapon isn't counterintuitive to their ability. The other 3 all have combat based abilities that can be tricky to trigger since their weapons of choice encourage them to get up close to enemies. Which is what they do.

This is especially a problem for Riju and Yunobo since they're abilities are projectile attacks.

So what if, in TOTK DLC, Each Regional Phenomena Sage gets a secondary weapon that eliminates this problem? And I'm not talking things like give Riju a bow or Tulin a spear. I'm talking brand new weapon types that may or may not be made from Zonai Technology.

I even have a couple examples I've thought of myself:

Riju: Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but out of the 4 Champion Races in this Era of Zelda, aren't the Gerudo the only ones to not have a signature instrument? Majora's Mask gave Goron Link a set of drums and Zora Link a fishbone guitar, and BOTW had a Rito with an Acordian in the form of Kass. Give Riju a Snake Charmer Flute or something like that and have her play some classic Zelda Songs to effect enemies from a distance. Song of Storms to call a thunderstorm on enemies with metal weapons, Song of Time to apply the Recall effect to a single enemy projectile, Earth God's Lyric to sink an enemy into the ground, Song of Healing to restore Link's hearts? I don't know would that one be too overpowered?

And even some non-battle uses like playing the Sun's Song when it's raining outside to clear up the sky.

Tulin: His ability may not be hindered by his weapon, but it wouldn't be fair to exclude him in this regard. What I'm thinking is a pair of Zonai Power Gloves that are designed to go on a Rito's Talon's instead of a Hylian's Hands. Can you imagine Tulin using those to pick up a Lynel and drop it to the ground from high up in the sky to cause fall damage?

Yunobo: A Zonai Dominion Rod. Simple description but it's the best I got.

Sidon: A Zonai Fishing Rod. Okay hear me out on this one. Sidon casts the rod at an enemy from a distance, the hook lands in a conjured pool of water, Sidon wrestles with a fish construct underneath this pool, which causes water to splash around the area, and then Sidon fishes out the fish construct. It could be one of a certain number of types of fish that would each spray a different kind of water attack at an enemy.

Mineru: The way her ability and the weapons of her construct body function, the most I can figure is an upgrade to the construct that puts a barrier around Link while he's riding to protect him from a certain number of hits before it has to recharge. And it would also allow you to attach Zonai parts to Mineru's body from the pause menu. That's not something you're already able to do is it?
