It's kinda funny that "wrestling is fake" (or its edgier 2010s equivalent "anime is fake") was ever considered really an edgy thing to say at all, like it's equivalent to saying "superheroes are fake" or "fairy tales are fake", everyone knows that, but you don't really acknowledge it because you can't really have a story where you point out that it's fake all the time.
I find it a bit weird how people say Astro Bot is "just a giant ad", but give Smash the benefit of the doubt - considering Astro Bot doesn't use the character or game names at all, and treats the characters more like fun cameos than Smash's all-important vibe. Not that there isn't a marketing element to Astro Bot, but it's very clearly on, if not the lesser end, at least the subtler.

after commenting about the phantom i've been going down the vaporware console rabbit hole and i am very distressed to find out a console called "ape extreme" was never released. that is the coolest name ever. i want to flappy bird that abandoned tademark
It's kinda funny how it took like 8 years for "cringe" to go from meaning "kids having fun" to either being used in an endearing manner or reserved for actually-bad-things, while "brainrot" took about 3 weeks to go from "anything children like" to a term of endearment.
Pizza Tower has a whole level where you are wading through poop and there's giant stickers of pizzas that have been pooped on, yet the most grossed out anything Pizza Tower-related has made me was the sound effects in the demonstration video for the Gustavo and Brick mug on the Fangamer website
I'm honestly convinced that angry cartoon review YouTubers have never actually been a child. They were all grown in a lab and born at 18, and that's why they get so mad at fart and butt jokes.

It's funny how you could argue that the only two characters who benefited from the mythical "Smash boost" in a meaningful way with Ultimate are Daisy (clone) and Geno (doesn't even appear in a physical form)

I actually have a lot of thoughts on this Flappy Bird thing, and might make a big post about it, since I am a bit of a mild FB fan. There's misconceptions floating around about basically every aspect of the IP as well as copyright law as a whole.
The sensationalist culture surrounding Flappy Bird is (was?) really annoying. People acted like the takedown was this "dirty scandal" that "ruined someone's life", when in reality the game came back half a year later with a relatively big merchandise push, and it only really evaded view because it was on a really obscure platform.
Dreamworks should absolutely make the Fuzzy Donkey from the Shrek DVD bloopers a unique character in Shrek lore.
I find it a bit strange that people didn't like the idea of the Powerpuff Girls as a trio in MVS - the way they fight in the show is by flying above one another as a single adult-sized unit and then splitting up one by one, I don't really get how or why you'd implement them any other way.
It's funny think that the first person to say "Morbillion" was very likely inspired - possibly subconciously - by Conan O'Brien's Oogieloves skit.
Really bizarre how the MVS thread saw a post from a developer that explicitly says "combat improvement", with an attached gif that is clearly someone airdashing, and immediately jumped on it being a Powerpuff Girls tease

just eat is way too overpriced, and i only do it because my awkward supported living situation means i'm not gauranteed a drive every day, but it is kinda funny to watch a pizza go through development hell and keep retiming, especially if you get it really early or late in the day.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is a toys-for-life game. I don't make the rules. I'll give Ultimate and 3DS a pass (prior way downplayed Amiibos' importance in marketing, latter was only compatiable in comically situational circumstances) but like, look at the normal-TV-that-normal-people-watch marketing for Smash Wii U. Amiibos everywhere.

One thing that annoyed me about NASB discussion, that I don't really think I properly comprehended until the series' death, is that a lot of people who discuss NASB aren't really NASB fans if that makes sense? I know that sounds a bit gatekeepy, but I'll explain: it feels like a lot of people were just in the overlap between Nickelodeon fans and Smash fans, and liked the idea of a combination of the two, but didn't actually appreciate the NASB games for their own distinct identity. The things I think of the NASB duology as being - experimental, fast, competitive, quirky - were all things people either didn't care about or thought were detrimental, and instead a lot of the emphasis was just "Why can't you be more like Smash?" - "if this was Smash, we'd have Arnold" "if this was Smash, we'd have the Timmy negotiations done" "if this was Smash, we wouldn't have Hugh" so on.

I really don't get why fans of Rayman, Klonoa, and Banjo in particular tend to get so vitriolic whenever series like Croc, Bubsy, Aero the Acrobat, e.t.c. get any kind of new content.

So, judging from the voice over in the trailer, the Minecraft movie takes place in a scam carnival ride like the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon? That's funny to me, if D&D wasn't a tabletop RPG, that makes sense for a ride, but imagine if there was a theme park ride, in a world where Minecraft is not a game, that is just... cubes. Real world but cubes.

i recently realised that calling platform fighters "smash clones" is actually beneficial in the long term because it will just turn "smash" into a genericised trademark.
I had a dream where someone made a YouTube video called "every death in a CGI-live action cartoon adaptation ranked" and I got really mad that they forgot to put in reboot Mufasa or the shoe from Roger Rabbit (despite the latter being an adaptation of a pictureless book and not a cartoon)
