I think my biggest regret with DriDim was not having it set as a "Double Dash" type game from the beginning. Would make our iconic team racers and crossover seasons a bit difficult if not non-existant, but seeing Harley and Taz drive together in that MVS McDonald's advert makes me severely regret not taking the opportunity to have Squidward and Chun-Li share the wheel on Optimus Prime
The idea of a "YouTube fighting game" is funny to me - it's typically brought up by people who like kid-skewing YouTubers like Markiplier or MatPat who have larger-than-life stage personalities that probably translate well into movesets, but if you look at it from my YouTube viewing habits - which tends to skew towards analysis-comedy video essays, with bit of straightforward comedy/memes and serious breadtube stuff thrown in - it is completely incompatible. The idea of Kevin Perjurer having a Michael Eisner jumpscare super move or debating the legality of the Ashens couch stage is hilarious.

To all the MVS fans likely having to deal with people assuming (or stubbornly affirming) that Dexter and the PPG are 100% confirmed for the relaunch update because their shows' stages were shown off: I emphasise. I emphasise.
It's really weird how people talk about reasons given for not exercising or dieting, valid or otherwise, as "excuses" - like, excuses for what? What obligation do they owe you? It's not like odor or something where it could prove intrusive towards others, it's their body, you don't gain or lose anything from how they handle it.

I haven't played MVS, and don't think it looks very good, but honestly if there's any platform fighter that should have a League of Legends-sized roster, it should be this one - primarily casual appeal, big emphasis on character interactions, really vague criteria for character inclusion that covers multiple fandoms - quantity is the way to go here.
Just saying, MVS devs, you have the perfect Yoshi's Story equivalent right here

Every review I've seen of NASB2 is just
- Make fun of NASB1
- Explain slime admittedly well
- Describe genre-norm mechanics that predate Ultimate and were in the first NASB as "stunning new twists on the formula"
- Some sort of whine about cut characters and/or playercounts
- Like and subscribe
When you think about it, this iconic image has very chilling existential implications. NASB2 lets you have 5 second long battles. It's surprisingly fun and suspenseful, if the game had better loading times I'd play it as a mode frequently.

I feel like Giga Bowser in Melee was the only time edgy Smash single-player worked, because he was the one who felt out of place, instead of the characters you're playing as feeling out of place.

I find it weird how a lot of platformer fandoms - specifically Rayman and Mega Man, to name two - actively want their favourite characters to be corporate mascots in the same way Mario and Sonic are. Even putting aside the very topical and complex discussion of corporate IP ownership and who is owed what for a creative production, would you as a fan want your favourite character to be associated with some of these companies' practices and reputations? And would you as a fan want your favourite character's games to be designed with such a reputation in mind?
The counterpoint to "a bigger public domain would just mean less original ideas and more Star Wars/Marvel/e.t.c." is that said franchises even exist at all and not just a constant string of movies where Dracula fights Humpty Dumpty. Public domain characters have historically been bit part players to new characters - if all of Marvel and DC's heavy hitters became free to use, we'd have a fad, but then it'd mostly be "Scoblob n' Pals Season 2 Episode 6: Scoblob Meets Batman!"

Penny's Big Breakaway is really good, best 3D Sonic-style movement I've ever seen; and you can see influence taken from a very plentiful and diverse set of platforming and non-platforming games (Ristar and Mario 3D World are especially apparent as influences), but whoever decided that "let's make our entire set of mooks the baby Goombas from Mario 3" should get a stern talking to.

I got recommended a video from an FNF fan channel about the game's inactivity, and it's really weird? He's treating the slow progress of blog updates and reveals as if it's some kind of crime or moral slight? and he pulls up recent blog updates that show clear as day it's still being worked on, and complains because they don't actually reveal anything about the final game? The info he's complaining about being "boring" is actually kinda interesting too, a lot of neat BTS game dev system stuff. -
