Continuing from my last post about game trailers as individual art and identities from the games they're marketing, I actually think that if a character like the bus driver or Dashing Super Guy got in Smash, they should have their own series symbol that represents their specific advert. I think a general "advertising" series symbol (a dollar sign or something?) would be too catch-all and hard to decide on virtue of Nintendo ads sharing next to no iconography, placing these ads as part of their game's series creates a tonal disconnect and potentially disappoints fans of the series (so a seperate series symbol would be a good way to say "No, Dashing Super Guy isn't the 4th Kirby rep, he's not in over Susie"), and a lot of the individual ads would lend themselves quite well to series symbols on virtue of advertising, as a medium, revolving around iconography - Dashing Super Guy could have his grin + sunglasses for instance.
