Honestly I think it would be hilarious if Tingle was in Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity, and they gave an explanation for why there’s an island named after him. As long as it’s a stupid reason

It must have either felt like the best thing ever, or the worst thing ever to be a fan of the Yakuza game series when Baka Mitai became a meme
Feels like every 5 seconds I’m obsessed with a new videogame series. Now it’s Final Fantasy, before it was Sonic, before that was Street Fighter, and then before that it Zelda, and it’s goes on...
I would probably be disappointed by any Gen 8 newcomer... Except for Corviknight... for some reason.
I dunno, I just think Corviknight has the perfect amount of originality and recognizability to be the best candidate for a Gen 8 rep... And the only one, in my mind
Tales of Symphonia feels more like you’re playing a mid 2000s TV Y7 cartoon like Avatar or Teen Titans (The latter, mostly thanks to Lloyd’s voice) and less like a complicated, story driven JRPG
It’s because of this that it’s always felt weird seeing the characters with full-on anime designs instead of how they look in the game
So apparently a site said “Nintendo reportedly argues joycon drift isn’t a real problem or hasn’t caused anyone any inconvenience”
I don’t buy that, though. Nintendo has already apologized for joycon drift and is repairing it. Besides, it says “reportedly” so in taking it with a grain of salt
Does anyone have any information on this? What source originally reported it, and do you think it’s likely this happened?
The only smash character it makes sense to say has a toxic playstyle is Piranha Plant... and not the reason people usually say “toxic playstyle”
There are no such thing as “Toxic fanbases” you only think there are for three main reasons :
1. Vocal minorities
2. Vocal minorities
3. Vocal minorites
Smash fans only have three jokes when talking about Steve:
- Smash fans love miners
- Steve can do weird things with blocks
- You’re going to Minecraft
I really wanna see what most destroyed villages/towns on Hyrule Field in BotW looked like before the calamity, in the Age of Calamity game
Steve is NOT too recent to have an influence on the game industry.
Minecraft was released 11 years ago. In the gaming world that’s:
- The difference between the year Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario 64 were released
- When the Wii was still getting support from Nintendo
- The year another Smash fighter, Bayonetta, debuted
- The amount of years between the Gamecube and Wii U

I’m not to keen on Sora in Smash, but not for the reason you might think,
I don’t want him because of the sheer amount of hate he would get. That would basically start a “Smash fans civil war” worse than we’ve ever seen. There’s already way too many people who call die-hard Sora supporters “nostalgia blind” or “just people who want to mess up Smash by adding things that aren’t from games” and the amount of arguing that would ensue honestly scares me.
It would be worse than Byleth, worse than pokemon sword and shield, and worse than paper mario. That would probably be the most frustrating debate the Smash community has ever had... And that’s saying alot
The situation of adding Steve was probably less like:
Nintendo: Add Steve or you lose your job!
Sakurai: i dont wanna but ok...
And more like:
Nintendo: Hey, we think Steve would be a REALLY good idea!
Sakurai: Steve!? That’s impossible!... But I’ll do it!
I’m super hyped for Steve, but if you’re disappointed that’s fine.
Just don’t shut down the importance of the character, especially if you haven’t played Minecraft
Okay, I’m inventing a new phrase, which I call “Newcomer Daze”
This is to describe the weird feeling we get when a strange, somewhat gimmicky character is released in Smash, and they feel out of place.
We’ve all had the feeling before, and I can practically guarantee everyone’s feeling it with Steve. Think about when Hero or Min Min were put in Smash and they felt out of place with their gimmicks. Even Joker, Terry, Byleth, and to some extent, BK felt a little off at first, but eventually the feeling went away.
And that’s the thing about the feeling, it goes away. The DLC feels like a part of Smash now. Sure we can still remember the newcomer daze we’ve had, but we don’t feel that way anymore.
Steve feels like he won’t fit in, but soon enough we won’t be able to imagine Smash without him
Not making Steve's series logo a creeper face was a missed opportunity
Brawl had third party characters as a bonus,
Smash 4 had them to represent the essential gaming all stars, and Ultimate has them to make dreams come true
I really don’t think there’s any reason for Steve’s spirit board to include characters from other Microsoft games.
Terry’s made sense because SNK games are tightly connected, and Terry is more popular in crossovers than his own game.
It would just seem strange to me

My thought process during the reveal:
A fight on battlefield? Wait why’s Terry here? Is it another fighting game character? Scorpion? Sol Badguy?...

I can understand the concern Steve won’t fit with Smash, but I don’t agree with it. Min Min, Hero and Joker all felt out of place at first but feel a lot more natural now
The feeling of seeing your two favorite childhood game/ game series you’ve had nostalgia with for years coming together...

I dunno if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but I really, REALLY don’t want or think a first party Smash character will be the next fighter. The only exception to this is a Gen 8 rep, which I would kinda be disappointed by
Don’t get me wrong, there are a huge amount of characters from Nintendo that should make it in, but I would much rather have them in a Base game. Like a Zelda rep.
I think the point of DLC is to get new companies and/or new series in Smash, and I believe it’s much more likely that we will get third parties or if it is a first party, someone from a game not already represented in Smash, or barely represented in Smash, like we got with Byleth and Min Min

No. It has to have gameplay to be a game
I have a tip for people waiting for the next Smash newcomer. If sounds a bit weird but I think it’s a good tip:
Stop thinking about Smash
Like, take a break already! You don’t have to stop immediately, and you can still practice if you play competitively, but getting other things on your mind will certainly help. Get excited about other things, maybe play some other games instead and it will feel like no time passed at all when the next Smash newcomer is announced.
When it comes to rereleasing older games, I would always prefer the original game without being remastered. Remasters are ideal for PS3-era games that basically just look like modern games, but with a lot worse quality.
So for example, Super Mario 64 would in my opinion lose some of its charm and distinct look if it was remastered. Not to mention, some of the worlds like Rainbow Cruise would look really strange and feel out of place.
Or look at Resident Evil 4, which looked more creepy thanks to the fog in certain places. Remasters of the game removes some of it, making the world feel bare.
There are still some games that deserve remasters more than ports, but those are more exceptions. I want the classic look and feel of a game intact
I think the ideal situation would be to have a remaster of the game, but have the original game always playable through the options menu, with a quick and easy swap between the two. Think something like the Wonder Boy remaster
Don’t be the kind of Nintendo fan who goes into a drunken rage every time the words “3D and Mario” are used in the same sentence
If Smash downsized for the next game, Masterpieces mode returning would be cool, but as little mini games based on the classic titles of each game. I would also want to keep the pixel look of each of the games to show newcomers what each classic game feels like
Bowser Jr sounds like Bart Simpson in Super Mario Sunshine
So I've heard sunshine on Switch has really bad framerate issues. I then picked up 3D All-Stars, and didn't see any issues with Sunshine... at first. Halfway through the framerate suddenly dropped and stayed that way. It was awful, and so freakin' slow it was almost unplayable without getting nauseous. Has anyone else had any issues with the framerate? If Nintendo seriously noticed this issue allowed a game that runs this poorly, that would be really disappointing and awful.
Any Smash Pokémon rep made after 2008 can’t be fun. All they know is be human-like, predictable moveset, charge they neutral special, evolve from starter, mega evolution final smash and die
I feel like for so many people, seeing everyone talk about how great something is, but having no interest in it or a way/enough time to experience it automatically turns into hate for that series and the fandom.
That’s a huge problem, and please don’t let this happen to you -
