Even though I liked the idea a lot at the time, SSBU ending on a history character like Space Invader or an Atari rep wasn't really a good idea - even disregarding that Smash fans have an aversion to any game released before the late 90s, it wouldn't be earned like G&W in Melee was given SSBU isn't really a good "gaming history museum" in the way Melee and Brawl were "Nintendo museums". Sora on the other hand does feel earned given how much SSBU focused on fan picks - even if I disagree with that approach.

I don't really like the idea of Bentley Bear in Smash that much compared to other potential Atari reps, mostly because I feel he has too much of a personality/theme to him and it wouldn't make sense for him to pull out space or high fantasy-themed props, let alone such props with a retro aesthetic. It's kinda like making the wolf from Egg the Game & Watch rep instead of a generic silhouette, sure: the wolf has way more personality and is much more striking to the eye, but he also has a specific theme that doesn't blend well with being lifted up by firemen or transforming into an octopus - in a similar way, I feel Bentley's Disney-esque kiddie fantasy aesthetic wouldn't work well with showcasing all of Atari's lineup in the way a cube with an arrow or a triangle that shoots lasers would.

As DriDim goes on the franchises prompts are probably gonna get way more specific - which was what happened with SMSB too (early prompts being on the line of "Submit a Yoshi character" while later prompts were more akin to "Submit a clone of a Melee high tier")

I do wonder why Lip's Theme was on PictoChat in Brawl instead of the Yoshi's Island stage - even if you ignore that Tetris Attack exists, the song fits way better on YI aesthetically and YI is pretty similar aesthetically to Lip's home in Panel De Pon. Would've gone well on Green Greens too, but Brawl was really weird about Melee stages.

Even as a non-Minecraft enjoyer, a second Minecraft rep is one of the most overlooked "general series newcomer" categories. Shouldn't happen before Chief or another homegrown Xbox character though.

I feel the Crash 4 approach of pretending to throw out the bad instalments through the plot while secretly taking a lot of ideas nested within those titles is probably the ideal approach to doing a reboot for a franchise that's considered to have gone downhill - gaming or otherwise.

The Wii Motion Sensor Bar would actually be a kinda rad Smash fighter, it'd be really wide but very short (though it would have to be made a bit taller for balancing - maybe put on a stand?). I could imagine it having a (near-)invisible projectile.

If another game tries the PSASBR approach of "crossover stages", I think I wouldn't want the stages to transform but rather be a combined universe design at all times. Might be hard to pull off without looking cluttered though.
