shoutouts to all of Florida coming to Apex, big jump from Apex 2010, in which there were just a handful of us. You guys made the trip so much more fun than last time, just with hotel room shenanigans. Also, im the designated get ****ed over guy in mario party apparently

shoutouts to Georgia/Alabama for being Honorary Florida. I love you guys as if you lived in my state (I wish you all lived in my state actually). You know we're happy to have you down here/happy to visit there anytime. You guys have bad personal car luck though.

shoutouts to those I know and ran into, but didn't actually play (which is pretty much anyone that I gave dap to or shook your hand). You guys make these tourneys feel like family reunions, except without the fail. It warms my cold nerd heart to know all of you guys after all my years of adventuring to tourneys

It sucks that for a smasher that wants to play other fighting games too, they basically have to quit since tourneys rarely have both. So happy you guys had both sides, and I hope you continue to have it for future Apex events (although hopefully the FGC side gets handled better)

Mother Nature can eat a ****. Dislike cold weather very much

Wendy's thieves can eat a ****. Steal water bottles and stuff from a closed restaurant, like really? Pretty dumb. And you had to make Dazwa and the other guy sit there all day Saturday just so we wouldnt get booted out

some fgc players can eat a ****. On saturday for like an hour straight some FGC players were yelling and *****ing and moaning at dmbrandon about the other room situation. I understand that some things sucked in there, and were worth complaining about, but after 10 minutes straight I got tired of hearing it. As both an attendee and a TO of a tourney that bad things snowballed, eventually you just stop complaining and help right the ship, if you can.

Hotel TVs can eat a ****. Salty the TV in my room didnt work with the wii. Luckily the other florida room had us covered. Gotta make sure to bring my portable wii screen to every tourney.

Airport parking can eat a ****. THis happens every tourne, but I'll never accept paying $50 to park my car at the airport for a few days


...welp, thats it. Consider this my soft ban on smash. Too much fun to actually quit, but AE is now the focus. I'll only be attending OOS regionals/nationals that have both FGC games and smash (unless its Genesis 3 because its in California, or Georgia because its down the street). See you guys around

Shoutouts to Luigi for being ****ing terrible and annoying to play. Shoutouts to all of the people I had the inevitably recurring conversation about him being terrible with over the weekend.

In general, my opinion of this tournament was… the organization pre tournament was great, I mean, getting Japan and everyone to come, and sponsors, and whatever. But during tournament… just terrible. Probably at any time, 25% of the tvs were being used for friendlies, even during crunch time. There are plenty of ways to correct this, pick from a hat. And seriously, at a national, why would there be a total of 5 brawl setups the first day? Well, there were more later in the day, but still. This contributed to the ****tiness of the time management, because everyone had to wait until the tournament days to get their grudge matches/money matches/friendlies in. I could think of a few more complaints, but all in all, it was, luckily, a great unifier for the smash community, and a drop kick to the drive to improve for the Americans, after getting stomped by the Japanese.

Oh and, next time I’ll make sure not to schedule my flight for 6:30am, so for one, I won’t have to pay $190 for a taxi just to get to the airport in time, and two, so I can actually chill a bit at the Hyatt with people after the tourney.

I'd rather settle for the fact that Sonic has a bad MU against MK than against 2 other characters. Results like that suck. But all we can do is try and try again. No other character is mained with as much dedication as Sonic. ALL Sonic mains pick him cuz they LOVE the character. You can't name 1 Sonic main that picks Sonic cuz of strategy or that isn't a huge Sonic fan outside of Brawl.

For Melee, I nominate Wobbles. The guy took out M2K second round, only to lose to Peepee and HBox. At any other tourney, beating M2K would get you better than 9th place. KirbyKaze gets an honorable mention due to sending Hbox and Shiz to losers' bracket.

For Brawl, it's gotta be DEHF by a longshot. He fought Gnes second round, lost to Otori and Nietono, and got 9th. Even if he lost to Gnes, ESAM probably would have denied him top 8 by using Falco's 2 hardest matchups...talk about a tough break.
