Man, I actually predicted Brawl internationals to take 4 of the top 8 spots, but I did not expect their victories to be so ... convincing. :( I am depressed on that front. Melee was bizarre - it's like you either place top 4 or outside of top 32 as an international player ... weird. :embarrass:

Team Attack was left OFF by mistake in Brawl 2v2 finals, and a Brawl disc was used by mistake for Melee finals. :troll:

Armada > Mango

Deleted my real post because I wanted to post it in another thread. This thread should not be for arguing even though that's going to happen eventually.

EDIT : I like Alex's starting comment. America Hold that L for all smash games till next tournament : )

Awesome Job Japan... Nietono was crazy fun to watch. I'm fairly curious though, if MK is banned in NA, and we get no practice... wouldn't MK's destroy us even more in future tournaments (where japan participates)

Very great job Alex and Apex staff. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this, and for doing your best to make this enjoyable for the viewers. Some things can definitely have been done better, but considering the scale this went to and frustrations you needed to deal with mustve been hard. Tried to stay tuned for all the games streams for support, but overall when brawl was running it was an enjoyable experience.

Room for improvement areas:
-Staying on schedule so were ensured seeing the hype matches we want to see.
-Better commentators and less hate on stream, for other games and for players.

This tournament has made me rethink everything I previously thought about melee.

Shoutouts later... back to training. I have work to do.

Armada did not just win the title for undisputable best player in the world and champion, he also won me 1000 dollars from Battlecow, in a bet the retard made with me.
Unfortunately this Battlecow is a lying little snake who refuses to admit that he agreed to the bet that he proposed, and won't give me my 1000 dollars. No respect at all, that's low even for a flopmerican.

Japan is the best in Brawl. They are simply on another level in both singles and doubles. America absolutely got destroyed.

Just thought I'd throw this out there:

So Nietono outplaced every US player (including all the best MKs America claims to have) and more importantly, he did it with Olimar.

The Japanese themselves when asked considered Nietono/9b to be the best players overall (who both don't main MK) and Japan is all anti-ban. The justification was that Japan doesn't have US level MKs so they never needed to ban him. That justification is no longer valid (Otori). Edit: Forgot to add this part to be clear. Japan has BETTER MKs and never needed to ban him.

Should MK be banned in singles? You decide.

Maybe it's time America stops Johning and starts getting better.

Posting here to post later once all of the pools and stuff are done so I can give a proper shoutouts.

Fantastic tournament. Also, f*** all pools who didn't report properly second day lol.

Shoutouts in general right now to my roommate, HungryBox for using my controller for melee, everyone in the smash 64 community (too chill,) FOW for being absolute **** and the most fun I have had in a brawl set, and OCEAN for money matching me and getting stage spiked by a misfire.

I hope America starts practicing now, instead of "lol I only play when I go to tourneys". I can guarantee that Japan practiced for Brawl like crazy, Armada practiced for Melee like crazy, and I dunno about anyone else. :D

Watching the tournament changed my mind about the MK ban slightly. I don't think he should be banned in singles per se, but doubles? Yes, please. It was so boring seeing all of the MK teams. There was practically an average of 2 MKs in a (stream) per round.

Also, favorite match to watch was definitely ESAM vs Kakera. They made the IC ditto legitimately exciting to watch. Nairo vs Otori was a close second for the same reason. Worst match to watch was Havok/Tearbear vs Kadaj/vVv Zero. 2 minutes of extreme planking, with a whopping 44 damage done in that time. More boring than watching HBox play Melee.

Lol nah my fault brah.

This tournament made me rethink the ban. North America is lagging as a whole... The japanese have taken the game to another level.

Don't forget everyone.. USA had one major victory..

MikeHAZE > EU Marths

-----

Also, in Melee, along with everyone else, I was very happy to see Javi do so well.. and maybe not along with everyone else, I was happy to see Hungrybox beat Mango, despite knowing that the GFs against Armada would be a lot slower.

In Brawl, other than MikeHAZE's Marth dittos, I was glad to see ESAM do some work on people in bracket, and of course proud of Nairo and Otori (and M2K/Anti in doubles) for showing us some amazing MK play.

I don't normally do shoutouts, but here goes:

I'm Bill_, and I wanted to give a shoutout to everyone that donated money during the tournament. My friends and I really appreciate your help getting back to Georgia, and it's great to see such kind people in the community. Thank you everyone! :bee:
