There probably would have been less condescending if JV hadn't been like "There is no way you're going to want Revolution over this one, but I guess if enough people ask for it we'll consider it."

That was just plain old the wrong thing to say. Let people make their own opinions. If you try to force on onto them, the backlash will be more severe.

I couldn't stand that show. I facepalmed so hard when Snooki literally stuck her *** into the freezer, then made some dumb comment like, "I have to poop."

Some sort of "like/dislike" system might be a good idea actually.

If it's implemented, I just hope that it doesn't degrade into the levels of Youtube comments. Although I find them entertaining, I'd rather only have to see them on Youtube.

Yeap, just re-enabled it as a selection option. Vibrant is still the new default. But enough people have spoken to the point where it seems a portion of the community will appreciate the option. So here it is.

Weird, it's not doing that for me. You sure it's not a shared class/id from something in your client-side customizations? I tried it in IE, FF, and Chrome and they all showed up like normal Revo.

I actually watched the first season because I thought it was at first making fun of it; like a mokureality? And then I just thought it was hilarious because of the stupidity of all and then when season 2 came out *facepalm* It was good for what it was, a laugh but extending it pass that was ridiculous.

So I guess for those other people experiencing it, they should check scripts as well. AFAIK the skin itself is working properly.



Regarding the News mushroom going to Vibrant, it's going to Drupal, which can only have one theme, to my knowledge. The news section is no longer functional though, it's only used for blogs.

We could make it link to a different page or maybe just # link it. Not sure at the moment.

What I compare it to is how PETA sometimes expressed their opinion, ie bombing experimental labs. Extreme action to relay a good message. I agree that animal cruelty is bad but I cannot respect nor support their organization.

Awesome. Now all we have to think about is how newcomers will see SWF. I'm not trying to be a **** or anything, but is anyone planning to look in to the changes that people like OS have suggested? Because the issues brought up are real and this style could look way better if the changes were implemented.

I shouldn't really be speaking for the developers, but I'm sure that any changes that they feel should be made, through suggestion or otherwise, will be made. This isn't a full time job where people get paid to do this (however I'm sure a money incentive will get them going if you want to donate ), give it time and changes that should be implemented will be made.

I still care about "saving" Vibrant though, if you guys really insist on making it the default.

One thing I don't really like is the banner. It's really large and tries to do to much. I did this, using Vibrant as an inspiration:

I am not a graphic designer, just an amateur, but I think something in this vein sends a better message about the smash community. It also includes little melee menu thingies. :D

I'm sure someone more talented with Illustrator could do a better job bringing my vision to life though.

A few recent Vibrant changes.

Fixed extra space gap that was below breadcrumbs/notices, which was being caused by no longer used ad-code.

Fixed skin selector / bottom menu having a slightly different BG color.

Removed glow from Info page lists.

Fixed highlight color for in-line elements (PM's, maybe applies to moderation as well?)

For guests: removed old / no longer necessary registration block. Added registration / login links to left side of the color stripe menu for guests.

Moved login box down to the forum area, made it match the width of the forum.

Notices are still showing up for guests (unintended), that's not something that I can look into though. I'll have to collaborate with Bionic on that when we have time.



A special note for mods. I'm aware that some of the moderation features of Vibrant are lacking compared to other themes (i.e. Brawl). Since I don't do any moderating myself, this is not an area that I am really up-to-speed on as far as what is or isn't desirable. I plan on talking to Hylian in person next week sometime and being attentive to making the moderation features as good as possible for mods who use vibrant.



Random notes of the moment:

The banner isn't likely to change much, a lot of people really like it. If you don't, I appreciate the suggestions, but it really comes down to a difference of opinion at that point. As I said though, I plan on making all light and all dark variations of it, as well as other various alternate skins in the future. Those will be more differentiated and hopefully have something for everyone.


Looks like Blog activity has increased significantly already, I'm glad that people are using the Connect page

For the record I'm not really complaining about the black and white contrast. I'm complaining about the design itself, which is really imposing. those buttons are huge and take up too much real estate. You could scale the entire thing down to 75% of it's current size and I'd be happier, but still prefer revolution.
