- Sam and Friends is an early puppetry television show that aired locally in the Washington DC area between 1955 and 1961. Kermit the Frog debuted in this program.
- The Tracey Ullman Show is a variety sketch show aired on Fox between 1987 and 1990. The Simpson family made their debut in the animated segments of this series.
- Love, American Style is an anthology comedy series that aired between 1969 and 1974. The Fonz debuted in Love and the Television Set, a segment that aired on an episode of this program.
- Wallace & Gromit is an English claymation film series created by Nick Park. Shaun the Sheep made his debut in the third short film of the series, A Close Shave.
- The Intertidal Zone is an unreleased educational comic book illustrated by Stephen Hillenburg in 1984. It was the main inspiration for SpongeBob SquarePants and featured a character named Bob the Sponge, who would later evolve into SpongeBob.
- Linus the Lionhearted is an animated television series aired between 1964 and 1965 that was intended to sell cereal. Sugar Bear debuted in this series
- ITV Digital was a UK television provider between 1998 and 2002. Munkeh was originally created as a mascot for this service, but upon its closure was transfered over to PG Tips, which he represents in Smash.
