One of the most interesting examples of a licensed game becoming more famous than the source material is probably Sitting Ducks. Began as an art piece, became a book, then a cartoon, then a game - but it seems the game is more famous (or at the very least more remembered/liked) than the cartoon, which is more famous than the book, which is more famous than the art piece.
I was bored so I sorted character designs I like and character designs I don't like.

It's hilarious to me that another word for chibi anime characters is "super deformed". It's just such a morbid term.
I never got the idea of "aging with the audience". I personally prefer the idea of passing down a beloved franchise to the next generation. Not to mention that if you can only take a franchise seriously as an adult if it becomes more (openly) "mature" you were never a fan in the first place all things considered.

I want to use my OCs for a proper, original universe some day - there's one OC I'm a little worried about though, one who is an autistic black trans woman (and to a lesser extent another character I created who is a gay Jewish trans boy). I'm not worried about getting flamed by people trying to stop progress but rather the polar opposite - I don't want people to treat this character as a list of adjectives and only like her because she's diverse, and I especially don't want whichever publisher or distributor I end up with to use her as a marketing gimmick.

I'm looking through the Dove Foundation's (that little stamp on all the cheap Dreamworks rip-offs' DVD boxes) list of movie reviews, and some of their reviews are very questionable. A lot of the reviews have homophobic undertones (or even overtones, such as in their "The Free Speech Apocalypse" review), some age ratings are absurd ("Christian Mingle: The Movie" is rated for all ages, while Inside Out, Despicable Me and The Lorax are classed as 12+), they openly admit to not watching some of the movies they rate (as shown in their Sausage Party review), and they list every instance of kissing or hugging (even familial) as "sexual content".
The only smart decision the Academy has ever made in the realm of animation. Should've been nominated for best feature.
I've just been laughing non-stop for like 5 minutes over a comment on the Penguinz0 "that's what I've been waiting for" video saying "Gun owners when someone breaks into their house". I haven't laughed this hard since I was 14 or so watching Garfielf for the first time.

A lot of the criticisms Disney movies get are from people who haven't watched a Disney movie since they were twelve. Sure, some are valid (racial insensitivity, the awkward implications of "Kiss the Girl", e.t.c.) - but I don't think Disney movies have ever tried to tell kids "if you believe hard enough it'll certainly happen!", no matter how much some songs may imply that OOC. -
