  • I lack the brain cells required to comprehend how this logo could've ever been considered professional for use in any kind of commercial project in any time period.

The background reminds me of Fairly Odd Parents, the music sounds like a group of frogs choking, and the reflection in the window of the rocket ship makes no sense. I have a feeling Toys For Bob was in an identity crisis here.
"How do we appeal to kids?"
"Eh just give it a dumb name and throw a bunch of random colors and sounds onto it. Put a rocket ship there too!"
That new Caddicarus video has got me thinking about how cool a new Disney Skate Adventure using 1+2's engine would be.

Disney Skate was actually a rockin' game. Had a blast with that one back in the day on GCN.

Yeah, plus the original only had 3 films - with Disney and Pixar's back catalogue, as well as all the franchises Disney's brought out under Bob Iger's reign, they could probably do monthly updates for years!
I'm surprised more people don't mention the idea of Andross as a Smash fighter. He'd be a fun character for Sakurai to express 100% original creative muscles on like Fox beforehand.

Andross is all good, but what about Peppy or Slippy?

I'm honestly surprised those two haven't made it in as AT's or Mii Costumes yet.

It's funny that you've mentioned this. Back during the Smash 4 speculation era I made this in Sketchbook Pro:

My idea was to introduce a new size class for the heavy fighters so characters like Giga Bowser, Mother Brain, Ridley, and Andross could be size down to be playable, but just the right size so they don't look off. Now that Ridley is in Ultimate, as well as taking a look at this fake leak pic I've made years ago I think if Andross' size was scaled down to be Ridley's height standing up he would look pretty good. Andross as a fighter would actually be pretty sick if it ever happened. A totally out of nowhere pick but I doubt a character like Andross would get any kind of massive backlash.

EDIT: Also I'd prefer if Andross was the next SF rep for Smash so that we can get Slippy and Peppy as special/deluxe mii gunner costumes. Adding them as costumes would finally let starfox fans play the original team in smash without having to make a full character.
I've always seen Waluigi as kinda like a wrestling heel, but for golf. His few instances of full dialogue do imply he's somewhat of a nice guy, or at the very least wise - like, actually wise, not a wiseguy.
"We need a character who can be the final boss of our Nintendo crossover, who should it be?"

    "Perhaps a giant dragon?"

"Nah, too generic, doesn't tie in to the characters."

    "Bowser, Andross or Ganon?"

"Yeah... no, too specific. They're Mario, Fox, and Link's enemies - wouldn't make sense for Pikachu or Samus to take them on."

"BUT THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT! ugh, how about the hand that wakes up Kirby on the continue screen? hehehehehehe"

    "PERFECT!"

"I was joking, Mr. Sakur-eh, who cares, the raise can feed my family."
I used to be active on DeviantArt and draw a lot of very... um... niche artwork, let's call it that, about people with elastic limbs - and all the OCs made for this artwork were very samey: adult woman, big boobs. I was sick and tired of it so I just decided to make an OC who is as (conventionally) unattractive as humanly possible. I took an old OC of mine (a Kumatora recolour named Grace) and slowly turned her into a disgusting pop-culture-obsessed wannabe-90s-kid teenage slob.

While they never said it out loud, it seemed lot of people in the "elastic girl" community as they call it (I personally would've preferred a much more androgynous name) were baffled by this character - whenever I'd request people to draw her they'd remove the acne; give her boobs; e.t.c., which just defeated the point of the character to me. (fun fact: I specifically wrote into Grace's "lore" that she wears a chest binder and eye contacts so she can look more ugly, and actually has DD and anime eyes without them.)

I have quite a few OCs, and pretty much all of them are male, with Grace being one of two female characters. This was pretty much just an act of rebellion towards the female-dominated elastic OC lineup

I made a few treasured friends during my DA days, but now I speak with them on Discord instead. My OCs have stayed alive through our discussions, and I see big things in Grace's future... some day, she may just get her own game!
"taunt/teabag to get bodied" is just a sign of a bad player since it implies they aren't putting their all into the game until they get taunted.

    Not quite.

Often times it means they're playing more cautiously until the taunt gets them to play more risky or aggressive, which has both its pros and cons.
    Wario Wario Wario
    Wario Wario Wario
    Ahh, that makes sense actually.

At the very least I don't think it's as simple as "taunt/teabag to get bodied". You should probably be cautious with taunts at a high level, but on casual Quickplay I don't think it really changes anything apart from being annoying
    Janx_uwu
    Janx_uwu
It can work the opposite way too-the person taunting might be playing well up until that point, then get in their own head as well as the opponent's with the taunt. Prideful is not something you want to be in the middle of a match. Not to say you can't taunt, but you have to keep a level head afterwards.
While I like Shovel Knight as a game I always felt it had a little too many modern commodities. It's more a modern game with retro graphics than a retro throwback; which is what most people like about it but what I dislike about it above all.
Sometimes I wonder if "hoes mad" memes were actually an elaborate conspiratorial smear campaign by Byleth's haters against Byleth's fans. There's no way in hell anybody old enough to comprehend how FE's turn based strategy works and/or emotionally mature enough to handle permadeath would genuinely think making fun of people simply for the mere act of being upset at a video game character will help them or anyone else.
This ad is strange to me for 2 reasons:

    1. It implies the game's "hero" Buck Bumble likes to kill innocent spiders for fun.
    2. You could just put a black screen on, play the Buck Bumble theme and add white text in Broadway font saying "buy buck bumble on n64" and it'd be the best selling game of all time. The song's that good.
Steve could be argued to be the first black default costume in Smash - even then, he's more racially ambiguous than outright black. Most merchandise of him is very white so I don't think he's intended to be black, it's just the shading.
I don't get why they added a Pig Mii Costume when they could've just added a Zombie Pigman or Piglin costume for Steve.
    Janx_uwu
    Janx_uwu
Probably because Pig is more iconic. Though the other ones definitely would've looked a lot better instead of having a Pig stand up on its hind legs and having it's limbs detach from it's body for the animations.
    Champion of Hyrule
    Champion of Hyrule
Uh... because it’s a minecraft pig. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t add a pig mii costume
I'm a little annoyed one of Steve's stages has How to Play 64's layout when broken. I just want that stage made into a real stage at some point.
    Well...

    good news for Lloyd fans.
    OnyanRings
    OnyanRings
    You mean bad news.
If the pattern keeps going, soon the Monster Hunter, Geno and Lloyd will be consumed by the Apocaliipse.
I have literally never seen anyone who's truly angry over Steve, at "worst" people are just mildly disappointed.
Steve can literally just build a cave of life. You can make ANY stage ban-worthy if you desire.
    Champion of Hyrule
    Champion of Hyrule
From the trailer, it looks more like whenever he places a block, it will automatically break after a few seconds, so I don’t think anyone could actually do that
    ZephyrZ
    ZephyrZ
This is just speculation, but I'll also bet other fighters will be able to break blocks with regular attacks.
My one biggest wish for Steve is that they use Windows music as part of his music pack. I get they're drawing from the spin-offs, but I just wanna fight to Canyon.mid and this is basically the only shot for the Windows universe (yes, I did just say "the Windows universe") to be repped in any form.

This is supposed to be a negative review but it sounds more like a marketing slogan given the kind of game this is.
Apparently "every stage had to be reworked" to get Steve in Smash.

They've probably just been copied over 1 to 1 with slight alterations for Steve - but I seriously hope they took this opportunity to fix out some of the weird Hazards Off stuff.
Congratulations, Bull Dog Skin Care. Your ads have given me the forbidden desire to kick a puppy. I hope you're proud of yourselves.
It's gonna be super hard for artists to draw Alex in those "Smash girl breast comparison" images given she and everything in her game are literally just a wall of squares - and I am here for it 100%. I cannot wait to see the absurd, desperate attempts straight men take to make a pile of cubes conventionally attractive just because their hormones decided to make them curve-loving normies like everyone else instead of making them a cuboid-loving chad.
One thing I would predict appearing in Smash at some point is a Chinese rep - not nationality wise but rather a character owned by a Chinese company - for obvious reasons, however I can't find many notable video game characters owned by Chinese companies. Ignoring non-Chinese companies owned (partially or otherwise) by Tencent, the only Chinese publisher with characters (or "a character" would be more accurate) who could logically get into Smash by any stretch of the imagination is BillionSoft - who currently own Bubsy, who has almost 0 odds - I wouldn't call him impossible exactly given he is a very popular character in Western territories (albeit not for flattering reasons) and does have a large fanbase, even excluding his ironic fans, but he comes VERY close to impossible given his infamy isn't as strong in Japan. The only way I could see Bubsy getting in Smash is if a future Bubsy game defeats the odds and ends up being actually good, even then it'd have to be REALLY good to destroy Bubsy's bad rap.
I just noticed something: Steve's trailer is full CG animation, meaning he was likely planned for E3. That means there's probably another super big character next up if we're to believe they were planning 2 characters like last time.

    Wah?
    OnyanRings
    OnyanRings
Wah-t are you even talking about ? We know the next character is gonna be the Ball guy from pokemon SW/SH.

Who said CG trailers can only happen at E3?
    Wario Wario Wario
    Wario Wario Wario
It's a pattern of sorts - I know patterns get a bad rep, but:

3DS/Wii U - no DLC reveals directly tied to E3 (though some were revealed a few days before E3 with no connected branding), no CGI DLC trailers, most use gameplay and, in the case of Corrin, animation ripped from his game.
Ultimate - DLC reveals usually have 2D animation by that game's team or edited from that game. Hero and Banjo have CGI trailers at E3. Steve was revealed after E3 was cancelled for the year and has a CG trailer. I'm unsure if Min Min's trailer is 2D or 3D, but anyone can tell it's lower budget.
I wonder why everyone calls Steve "Minecraft Steve"? Where did this start? I don't think it's a meme like calling Sans "Sans Undertale" considering how far it goes back.
    ZephyrZ
    ZephyrZ
Steve is such a common and generic name that it helps to throw in "Minecraft" so everyone knows who you're talking about, and it's just slightly easier then saying "Steve from Minecraft".
