I like the Sonic movie, but it's a little overrated IMO. To me it's a just a fun, quirky kids' movie with some nice references - leagues above Yogi Bear or Alvin and the Chipmunks, but not exactly on the level of Paddington or Detective Pikachu either.

My favourite underrated cartoon is Eek! the Cat, it's this great mix of cynical and wholesome - you've got this adorable, lovely character thrown into a harsh, tough-as-nails world, which is a common trope, but Eek! does it different by having positivity always come out on top despite the hardships. It's a shame that since buying the Fox Kids lineup (which yes, happened before the entire Fox buyout) Disney have abandoned this show apart from a few reruns on international Jetix stations in the early 2010s.

My ideal Mario/Sonic crossover would be Generations-style, put Sonic in Bob-Omb Battlefield and Mario in Green Hill Zone, typical stuff - BUT I'd make it so it's optional to play every level and you can beat the game just playing one character's levels.

To me, the problem with Sonic in 3D is that I feel Sonic is too fast for the third dimension - in fact I'd dare say Lost World had the right idea with the run button - momentum doesn't really work for a super-fast 3D platformer like it would for a super-fast 2D platformer or middling-speed 3D platformer.

It's a shame that handheld ports (well, I say ports but I more mean unrelated games with the same name) have been a dead art since the 3DS came out - some of them were actually better than their console counterparts, especially in the world of licensed games.
