Interstate Crew Battles
In the beginning, I mentioned there would be one crew battle to rule them all. And I was right (for both games). There will be only one exhibition-style crew battle at Rocky. Each battle will take the full hour block dedicated to it on Saturday night (See: Schedule). We have time constraints, and a heck of a lot of folks attending. In light of this I'll happily announce the following crew battles:
Brawl: VICTORIA (Captain Tibs) vs. NEW SOUTH WALES (Captain Shaya)
Melee: VICTORIA (Captain CAOTIC) vs. ALL STARS (Captain Accelerate)
Both crew battles will be 8 v 8 crew battles.
Each player will have an assigned main announced before the battle begins.
Random stages only, 1 stage strike per player, per match.
All other standard rules apply.

I don't see why it's just VIC vs NSW... should be all stars as well IMO, what about the top players from other states, like Amaterasu and... I don't know the other states top players >_> If I'm gonna spend $300+ to go to Rocky I at least wanna see some QLD rep in Brawl I'm sure the other states would want to see some rep of theirs as well =/

well this is one of the biggest attendances of qld at this event..

About 10 v 10 - This would exceed the 1 hour commitment for both games. You also need to consdier layover times in-between games.
Why wouldn't both games be All-Stars? - The NSW Captain has made it perfectly clear they can win it without the assistance of other states - it has almost 100% representation. This is the essense of a true regional battle, and is rare in Australian Smash history. It shouldn't need outsider assistance if they have their own numbers and calibre to represent. All stars/assistance from other states is only a backup solution if there is not enough consolidated representation (See: Random Mexican thrown into Brawl Crews for Australia). It devalues the concept of a 'region vs region'.
Did QLD get the shaft? - In short, no. Apologies for reading the Rocky thread and basing assumptions off that, but I gathered 95% of the hype generated for Regional Crews is coming from NSW vs VIC. Cross-travel between and the spirit of rivalry between the two is the highest Australia has ever seen. That just so happens to make it the easiest to organise. I have earlier invited other regions to co-ordinate and at least nominate a captain to represent them, but all I got was Accelerate for Melee. Interesting how some people will only co-ordinate themselves once threatned or given the push Understandably, there's a degree of uncertainty in who is going from QLD and will only be known on the day, but pre-planning goes a long way to delivering an event that is for everyone. Rocky is not the place for on-the-spot ad-hoc decisions. Everything is going to be as pre-planned as possible.

Unfortunately Cao is right, not enough players from Queensland are attending, in general. I dunno how the Melee crews will go considering half of them aren't even coming. TBH if you want to see it, make the effort to be there for it.

Just to clarify, I am in no way capable of commentating Melee. Brawl Crews is what I was aiming at.
ASSAULT vs All Stars minus NSW (nsw players would put y'all at adisadvantage anyways) sounds sweet as. I heavily endorse this idea.
