Joe...heard u made it into rd 2 pools man Good stuff. Wish you had made it into bracket, but i understand how it is (mango in your pool) and some other strong players. (get em next time, you got this)

Btw what happened to colin. I didnt hear anything about him (I know he didn't make bracket, but what pool was he in ).

so, in order to guaruntee the grab you boostgrab before the opportunity to tech is present?
This isn't possible. If you JC your shine, you can't boost grab since you need to be dashing to start a dash attack. I'd really like to see a video or gif of how this works because I just don't understand how the boost grab helps. It would make sense if boost grabs are simply better than JC grabs, but then why does no one use them in any other situation?

Hey guys marth main here. ANy advice for a marth player, i guess you could break it up into, approach, chain grab, stages, counter usage, sword dance etc. Or any principal knowledge one should know vs. this fat fox? I learned before my smash retreat to always be aware of foxes grab, so essentially im always tilting my control stick left or right while im in shield lol. Ive also developed pretty psycho instincts/reflexes to jam out of just being grabbed, and DEFINITLY timing out of foxes second hit in his up air. ANy other importants?

**** I was so close to beating hbox!!!!!

Gotta say

That uthrow in that spot on Stadium

One of the most BS traps in this game. Almost nothing you could've done in that situation, aside from just not getting grabbed. This game can be kinda dumb sometimes. But you came VERY close. Amazing work.

Naw. I waited for the u-air, but mis-timed the tech.

That final stock annoyed me because I wanted to SH n-air at him cuz I knew he would desperately try to grab. My controller decides that I FH+DJ n-air an I'm like: "oh god I'm gonna get grabbed for that. Better try to drift away and DI away."

Somehow I didn't DI the throw despite holding away.

Also game 4, that last jump I did was involuntary and that got me u-air combo'd.

He got so lucky.

Still, my edgeguarding was poor, and combo awareness was lacking a bit

Then I guess it's good that he didn't just uthrow > rest the missed tech, since you were waiting for the uair. But that sucks. You almost had it. :(

ALSO

Get a good controller please

you should probably ask the marth boards.

Take it from me though, u-air is so gay during marth combos. It's underrated and you could just u-air a fox like 8 times from 30%+

@ shrouded: I'll try. Mine broke a month and a half ago and I broke the one I was using during r2 pools. I threw it after a loss lol. But it was crap anyway.

Almost beating hbox with a bad/borrowed controller is nuts though.

Hopefully I can perform like that again next time

That's what happens everytime you get uthrowed by puff on a platform, you have to read if they want to uair or not -.-

Or you could just tech earlier. derp
You get uaired before you can tech the platform, if they anticipate that you're going to tech...otherwise, this wouldn't be an issue.

And if you wait for the uair, then you get rested if they anticipate that (since you won't be teching for the uthrow).

Of course you can escape this "trap" a number of ways, but I don't see how teching earlier will help. Unless I'm missing something.

You input the tech for the uthrow really early so if they uair the tech window refreshes by the time you want to tech the uair.

Ahhh, I see. That sounds like it would actually work...I'll try to test it later this week.

Unknown has been quietly contending for best Fox main for awhile (really since Apex 2012), but Mango's still the best Fox although I still don't know if I consider him a Fox main.

I'm still relatively new to smash, so any pointers for me would be great. I play fox and I finally was about to get myself recorded at a recent tournament. Granted I did win this set but I still lost a couple games and I was really nervous the whole time so there are a lot of full jumps and technical errors

Any help would be wonderful!

Leffen, you did really well vs Armada this past weekend. Almost though you were in fact, going to wreck him, lol. You'll have him next time.
