My favorite is when an enemy falls into both down smashes at the same time with proper distance so that they just freeze on the spot and take 100%.

Edit: FUN FACT: I have nearly 800 posts. pockyD has nearly 8,000.

Me & WarriorKnight are ready to **** at this hardbody! We been got our tickets and we got a sexy suite at the hotel. Whomever wants to play the two best Bowser players in the world, holla at us lol. Money matches accepted. Me & Green Mario are accepting team money matches too. So whomever wants to play the two best Mario players in the world, holla at us too lol.

If me & WarriorKnight are not down to play smash and not letting anyone play with us in our suite, its because we're gonna have girls in there ;)

Hopefully our new pre-payment site will be up tomorrow. We had to weigh out a few options we had, one of which was going through the MLG registration site, but he have no idea how fast they would be able to get that up and running. Hopefully, we will know by tomorrow (err today). Thanks again to everyone for being patient.

I posted this on the Genesis boards. I should probably post it here as well:

Problem #1: The ledge-grabbing rule.
-Excessive ledge-stalling is banned and will be enforced in the following method: A Player may only remain off the stage or on a ledge for a maximum of 5 ledge re-grabs (with one extra re-grab provided for leniency) before the Player's character must land on the stage or its platforms. Should a Player exceed the 6 re-grabs without touching the stage, he/she will be required to forfeit their current stock. Further violations will result in forfeit of match and forfeit of tournament set.
Simply put, this is impossible to enforce. After 3 minutes have passed, any player could claim their opponent regrabbed the edge 7 times so they should lose their stock. Unless a judge is present at every match at all times, then nothing can be done to stop excessive ledge grabs. If you truly want to get rid of excessive ledge-stalling, then implement a maximum ledge-grab limit that will be checked if a game goes to time (its one of the statistics the game keeps track of and displays in the "win" screen). If the limit is exceeded then that player automatically loses the game. The normal number is between 50-60 total ledge grabs. This is the rule that is used at all other tournaments that have had success with stopping ledge-stalling, and is the ONLY rule you can actually enforce.

Problem #2: The time.

The time should be set at 8 minutes, not 7 minutes. Games rarely go to time using either ruleset so this isn't that big of a deal, but tournaments over the course of the year+ that Brawl has been released have found that 8 minutes is a far better number that will NOT extent tournaments, but often will allow games that WOULD have gone to time with 7 minutes to actually finish. 8 is also the number used by most of the successful national tournaments run thus far.

Problem #3: No Stage Striking.

Set format (In Order of Procedure):
1. Opponents choose their characters for the first match *
2. 1st Stage will be chosen at random unless agreed upon by both players. Each Player will be provided one Random Reset, with the lower-seeded Player given the option to use their reset first.**
This is a horrendous method of choosing stages. Not only has nearly every tournament in the country adopted stage striking with incredible success and speed, but this method will more often take LONGER than stage striking. The time it takes to start a stage, decide to mulligan, restart the game, start the stage again, and possibly do another mulligan would FAR exceed the time it would take to do stage striking. Stage striking is the new standard of tournaments everywhere, and Genesis not using stage striking is a ridiculous notion. How could the biggest tournament in the country not be using the most popular and balanced method of choosing the first stage? Again, other nationals have used stage striking to great success, with no hitches or time problems whatsoever.

I suggest using the following 5 stages for striking:
BF
FD
SV
YI
PS1 (or Lylat, but PS1 is better IMO)

Get with the times. Stage striking is the new standard of our community.

norcal was actually among the first to use stage striking

however, with like 500+ people entering, most of whom are idiots, the concept of stage striking might be too much for them to grasp properly, such that you will end up more time explaining it and getting annoyed while they just keep complaining "can't we just random??" than you would using the traditional simple rules

the idea of NOT using stage striking was based upon the amount of TIME that will be used up trying to explain to everyone how to do it.. the majority of people (whether you think so or not) are not familiar with the stage striking process, and in the end, we lose out on time that could be used to finish the tournament.

simply put, if this wasnt a 500+ person tournament, stage striking would be most obviously used. Norcal has been using stage striking for ever, and we are very familiar with it. But with 500+ people trying to figure out what to do, or if they dont do it, and say someone loses based on a counter pick that they shouldnt have played on due to the other person not knowing and then, well its just a headache to try and fix when there are more important issues at hand tbh.

random stage select will most likely be used, due to the crazy amount of people that are coming to this.
