The only time I've ever done a double stright upb was in the middle of Temple. I let go of the control stick randomly and I think I pressed up again, but when I tried to do it again, I couldn't. This was soooo long ago I don't really remember what happened.

Yeah, I've already tried that multiple times. I tried everything I could think of for a LONG time and could never figure it out. I wish I could find that video where it was done. I'll try to look for it.

Carzy, why do u always post pichu stuff on the pikachu boards? lol, giving me all this pichu stuff for pikachu. You know... theres a pichu boards out there. O.o
I only talk about stuff that relates to pikachu like if you carefully look I never talk about some of these moves. down-smash/f-smash/up-smash/tilts because they are much to different to compare. And sometimes I think I know more about pikachu than axe souly based off of my info on pichu.

I would guess it's something like meteor canceling. Where you have to reset the stick to neutral before hitting up again. I just think the timing is much more strict than pichu's is (lol at me bringing up pichu just like ICG).
No when I double it upper left/right I'm alreadly holding the way i'm planning to go then press B and smash it again before I go to the neutral point. But hey were you on the ground when you do the double up-B? Or what? Because I think the ground makes it harder. I also said pikachu would have a much harder time up-Bing like that, but I think my pichu idea would be better than straight up, becuase if you had that tilt that the up-b gives when upper left twice that's just that much more longness(lol bad amazing word) think of pikachu's di it's overall compareing to the rest of the cast pretty bad. think of pikachu as you would fox

think about if you could only sweetspot would you wait till you can straight up up-B or as soon as as you can reach it with a tilted up-B? But think of how pikachu can't fall to his sides after up-B like fox, for a long time.

Also your not like me about pichu I make a huge topic about pichu with my amazing mindgame skills http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=271414 plus I know to much.

this made my day

also axe, ive been working on sweet spots with pikachu in general, and I was wondering, when i do the double, should i always aim the first part so that i'm at a 45% angle above the ledge, so the second one is easy to sweet spot, or is there some other rule of thumb that makes this whole thing easier.

I think there was this long discussion over this like a year ago, and the outcome was that noone knows for sure how to do it on command. And yea people think it involves what map your on and your position relative to the stage. Its so stupid, like the super bounce glitch in halo 2, too much stuff to do. I myself have only done it like 3 times.

And honestly, pika falls faster than he moves forward in the air, so your best angle is upin, in, then up, up in, if you are recovering from far out. So up up would be kind of a waste because you could have easily recovered any other option, The only thing I can think of where up up would be helpful, is if you meteor cancled. But really, up, up in gets you pretty high anyways.

Now if we can work out a way to do an up b to the side twice on command, that would be awesome

This is what I was trying to say up to the side would cover more ground and I found a legit way to do it as pichu i'll go test it with pikachu of course it would have to be mastered and it wouldn't be easy.

EDIT I couldn't double up-B as pikachu in training mode once after trying for like 3 minutes and I could do it a number of times as pichu but not once as pikachu, so techically pichu now has a pinch better recovery than pikachu. due to the wall jumps, more up-b options, way smaller during up-B, and he doesn't fall as fast. but really only a hair more due to options.

he looks like hes trying to hurt pika, thats no good.

and as far as good partners go, your prolly gonna be the life tank/ baby sitter as pika, cause alot of other chars have better KO games. In my experience fox and shiek are amazing partners for pika, and falcon isn't too bad either.

personally like peach and puff do not go well with my pika because neither of us are being super effective, we just make the game a little slower paced and doubles is fast paced or something, idk.

marth is okay if your partner is taj, otherwise its kinda messy.

Yea, I'd stick with fox, shiek, falcon, and sometimes gannon, other than that I don't like many partners for pika.

kwan tier :D

yeah, fox is pretty neato. My fav teammate prob.

I go back and forth on pika+jiggs. You're both kinda gimpy chars, so if you can't get those gimps/rests, you run into problems pretty fast.

I've been liking peach teammates too. She's pretty good at racking up damage, while you finish off with usmash/fsmash. Also baring fox usmashes or silly things, you both tend to live a while.

So yesterday, I was thinking about the way pikachu can edge stall in 64. That is, after grabbing the edge, just letting go, double jumping (so you're above the edge), then up-b downwards for a sweetspot. In 64, Pikachu gets invincibility during the startup of his up-b, so he can stay invincible the entire time.
i was just playing around with this earlier today, it seems easier to do it sort of like an side b stall with fox/falco, that is, just up b towards the ledge immediately after releasing it.

Idk guys, I kinda like having a Peach player as a teammate. Not too sure why lol. I also like teaming with Falcos. They rack up the damage, and you just Usmash. Too easy lol. I think it's good to have a teammate who can rack up damage fast, since pikachu can kill people very early with Usmash.

Fox is an all-around good teammate for every character, but imo i'd rather have a falco since it seems as though falco can rack up damage faster than fox. Just be sure to stay somewhat close to falco so you can save him if he's about to get gimped. A Dsmash happy Peach is also always awesome to have as a teammate =) It hits more in 2v2

Fox is the best partner for Pikachu. Just ask Colbol when we teamed for tournament and money matches. Jiggs is good with Pikachu too. Falcon is mad godly with Pikachu and of course Falco too.

Yesterday at a tournament I did the double straight quick attack. I was trying to do a straight up to 45 diagonal up left from aprox 75(?) degrees below the righthand side of the stage. My fingers were a little glitchy that day so it may have been a little tweak to the left after the first quick attack, but I don't remember exactly. Needless to say I didn't get back onto the ledge.

In truth I most likely know more about pichu/pikachu's up-B than anyone it has 3 parts to each jump. I mean I have no idea why pikachu can't just hold up-B side ways when pressing B and mash that way again.

Maybe i'm not fast enough or to fast like for pichu's I thing it was to have just right timing (about same as normal).

I'm saving my 3333rd post so I won't post back.

Lol ICG. Well, would you happen to know how going the same direction twice works? I'm gonna try my hardest to figure it out when I have time. I have a LOT of school work to do, so I'm not gonna be able to play any melee until Tuesday or Wednesday. After Tuesday... I think that I'm gonna start training harder than ever. I feel so determined to become the best

Oh and ICG, If you wanna save your 3,333rd post, you can just edit the last post you made in this thread.

Alright guys... So at the last tourney that I went to yesterday, I ended up getting 3rd under Forward and GamerGuitarist7. To make things short, I think that I made a conclusion...

I don't want to keep playing Falco as much as I have been. All I want to do now is just work on my Pikachu. I think that in tournament, I'm only gonna use falco for Sheik and IC's. Otherwise, I want to exclusively use Pikachu now. My falco normally doesn't get me any further in any matches than my Pikachu would, and I feel like I would be better with Pika right now if I had just put more time into him, instead of my Falco.

Forward and everyone else seems to be pretty confident that it's impossible for me to be the best in AZ with Pikachu. Well, I want to prove that I can be the best. Not with Falco or any other character. My point is... I'm gonna start working on Pikachu more than ever now to try to become the best. I'm gonna prove that I can become better than Forward with him, and hopefully accomplish my dream of becoming the best in the world. I understand that it's important to keep Falco for matchups that Pikachu can't handle, so I'll still keep my Falco sharp, but I don't think I'm going to play him nearly as much as I usually do anymore. I'm gonna play Pikachu every chance I get now and become the best.

Does anybody understand how to make pikachu do a single quick attack stright up, but turn the other way? I think that you either have to hold the control stick just barely to the side, or else it's one specific frame where it's just at the right place. I do this fairly often when I'm practicing my down angled quick attacks, and I've played around with it a little bit, but I'm still not one hundred percent sure how this happens. It does have its uses, as it would take less time to do this right under the ledge if you're facing the wrong way than to do a double quick attack, or possibly for mindgame potential.

Axe, good sh*t on your decision. Who cares what anyone says. Just aim to be the best with the character you love and enjoy playing with. Its definitely not impossible. Its the same thing for me with Samus. I'm just using Samus and having Pikachu and Fox as my backups.

Lets both prove to everyone that we can be the best in the world!!!
