been researching various european game composers for a backloggd list, and i need to know why this game has spaghetti-western credits music
one of my favourite 90s kids' show tropes is "jolly song with a random line half-way through about some boring adult thing like taxes for no reason". the tom ruegger shows that steven spielberg took the credit for mastered this, but i have to give a special shoutout to the zoo song from putt putt where they randomly sing about "advertising tie-ins"

Red's Dream (1987) is probably the only film ever where the intro and ending go hard but the middle is an abomination against nature.
A few days ago (probably a string of days), I got responded to two seperate opinions about Smash with "that would break immersion", and I find that response really weird (even if one user who said this simply suggested it as an example of a counter-argument and not because they believed it) but in a way, I think it actually kinda helps me get the words out for what I from Smash tonally - I've always used "kiddy", but I think a more accurate word would be "campy" - lovingly dumb, completely lacking prestiege, and creative decisions based all in fun and laughter. "kiddy" doesn't align with how I want Smash's roster to be, I like M-rated characters; I want characters from older games; and I think "scrimblo first" logic is stupid, but "campy" I think does align with how I want Smash's roster. I want a game where Motobug can beat up Kratos, that's camp, right?
While I prefer Small Mario, I will say that the Star in Smash not making characters rainbow coloured marks a great opportunity for a faster Mario clone

It's funny how Nintendo announed they would basically, by an extreme technicality, be releasing games on other platforms (Shiver's ports) and nobody really pointed that out.

Super Mario Land is probably the most popular Mario game among adults in the UK, due to the Game Boy being Nintendo's most successful hardware pre-Wii over here, so it's always been a little weird to me (even if understandable with context) that it only has one song in SSBU.

The animation in the Pharrel Williams Lego movie looks really surreal, in the sense that it actually looks really good and not at all uncanny, but is exactly 00000.00000000000.000001% worse than the animation in the Lego Movie.

Correction about something I posted yesterday: the Star Wars Hotel is not a cruise ship. The fact I could get 3 hours into a video essay about it and confidently believe it was a cruise ship on water until the concept of getting a bus to and fro the hotel is mentioned just shows how dumb this whole thing is.
I still think the "cargo smuggling" storyline is questionable.
can't wait for all the incomprehensible discourse about the new dunkey sonic adventure video even though he doesn't really say anything either negative or positive about the game other than it... having bugs and being worse than mario 64. -
