Hot take: I think a TV show or series of shorts would be better for the Mario movie's follow up than a sequel.
Since characters and karts are solely aesthetic in DriDim, the optimal kart setup would probably be based on hitbox size - hope y'all like lobbies filled with the Maushold-Boulder Mobile, PlayStations-Invisible Boatmobile, and Keroppi-Flying Nimbus setups.

E3 (and in turn major hype culture) seemingly dying feels like release from a prison sentence (or at least what I imagine that would feel like) - it's not all big and celebratory like the end of a war, and there's a lingering piece of guilt/embarrassment, but it puts you at ease like nothing else could.

When I went to the Mario movie, a poorly animated advert for a kids' phonics app played before it, and this was in it.
I do still think Despicable Me 1 is Illumination's best movie, but I might be biased because it came out right as I was in the target demo.
On one hand, I do think critic reviews are majorly flawed (even if not as much so as audience scores) since professional critics will often have to cover works outside their genre preferences, but on the other I do not understand why fans of "dumb fun" movies like Mario get so hostile about low critic scores. The only people a low critic score will draw away from a movie like that are people who probably wouldn't like it anyway.
The Mario movie madness is over. We can finally sleep easy.
5 more years and SpongeBob will have more KCAs blimps for favourite cartoon than there are real world blimps.

I thought the Mario movie was OK, not great but nowhere near bad - just a mindless kids' flick that's hard to really talk about critically as a non-child. Barely any plot beyond "Bowser bad, stop Bowser", but the appeal is moreso the characters themselves and how they interact with one another. As I said earlier, despite being the character I was dreading the performance of most, DK was my favourite part - Seth did a really good job with the character and I love his dynamic with Mario, even if his laugh is as grating as it usually is. I also love the incel-y vibes they gave Bowser lmao - his motivation is "marry Peach" first and "take over the kingdom" second.. There's a desperate lack of Luigi.
Steven Universe hate is just the "I'm about barely older than Barney's target demographic so I hate his guts" effect for 18 year olds instead of 9 year olds.

I know I've been saying for a while that EAC is a free update that appeared out of nowhere like Bigfoot, but I'm kinda warming up to the idea of it being an SSBU Deluxe because of how cool an "Everyone is Echoed!" trailer that introduces a bunch of new series rapidly would be. "Here's a Resident Evil character! Here's a Bubble Bobble character! Here's a Rhythm Heaven character!"
