I think a major problem with Smash (from a development standpoint) is that the casual fans are treated as the "main demographic" while competitive fans are treated as the "periphery demographic". Shouldn't it be the reverse way around, where the more devoted fans are the ones catered to?
I prefer this art style over the usual anime-esque Square art style.

This random, mediocre Mario 64 clone somehow has better CGI than Toy Story 2 (at least in stills), which came out the same year. Must've been super expensive.
The spectators on Pokémon Stadium 2 are tiny, they're like homunculi.
EarthBound Beginnings has a really eerie aesthetic feeling to me, as do most late-lifespan NES games. The Wii U's weirdly dark emulation palette doesn't help.
Why did 90s games show you the game over screen when you quit the game? Was it to encourage speedrunning? were they really proud of their game over screens and wanted the extremely gifted players to see them somehow?

I've got Disney+ and I want to make the most of it while waiting for Soul to come out, anything you'd recommend in the UK? No serialised series please (I'm not patient enough), but episodic series are fine as are movies based on them. I'm thinking of watching the Teachers' Pet movie since I like the artstyle (even if the one episode of the show I watched didn't exactly tickle my fancy with its overused "dun dun dun!" sound effect.)
