People are surprised Sakurai has a bad take about Cyberpunk when his game has stages based on NSMB2, Yoshi’s Story, and Sticker Star; as well as a character from Arms.
A character becoming diverse in a retelling usually doesn’t result in them becoming a Mary Sue - it simply makes their existing Mary Sue-ish qualities easier to notice because of how we’ve been conditioned, mostly by white straight cis businessmen half-assedly trying to look progressive and extremely privileged diverse celebrities, to worship women and minorities on a godlike scale

I have finally figured out the truth of how gender and sex work in the Mario universe - in Dribble and Spitz’ intro in the first WarioWare you can see a pregnant woman in the background, so it seems the Mario universe works under the same rules as Warner Bros’ Storks movie (remember that thing?) where there are multiple methods of baby creation, including both sex and stork.

WarioWare D.I.Y. could be considered a precursor to Super Mario Maker in many ways - including the utterly wretched daily unlock system.

Melee and Ultimate are equally as great competitive games IMO.
SpongeBob’s popularity is kinda hard to explain - it hasn’t got a unique tone like say, Hey Arnold or Courage; the characters and world are standard comedy cartoon fare; the show wasn’t breaking new ground like Simpsons or Ren and Stimpy before it; and the show wasn’t marketed that heavily until they knew it was a major success - I think it serves as a testament to the value of great writing that works on all levels.
I still don’t get what the point of the spotlight on Shadow Moses is.

There are two kinds of people in this world: people who consider claymation the objectively highest imaginable art form, and people who scream like a Five Nights at Freddy’s robot at the mere sight of stop motion animation.
Is Yoshi’s Story a prequel to a prequel? Or is the baby Yoshi in the game not the Yoshi who saved Mario? Is Mario’s karting buddy Yoshi the same Yoshi from Yoshi’s Island or Story, or neither?
Competitive Smash is awesome, but when you stop to think about it there’s just something kinda funny about people seriously discussing things like “the legality of the WarioWare stage” and “Pac-Man’s matchups”.

I have to admit, Banjo’s Smash moveset really does feel like it was made in the Melee era, which may be the reason he’s my second favourite DLC behind Steve.

While the ideal solution would be balancing out the gross-out and strongman sides of Wario, I honestly wouldn’t be opposed to Land Wario getting his own slot separate from Ware. On one hand I feel Wario’s moveset is absolutely perfect and a solid portrayal of the character, but on the other I do wish Land got some more representation. VB and 4 are some of the most solid platformers ever put to code. -
