I love the Smash stages with audiences because it's funny to imagine someone going to a gladiator coliseum or boxing ring then seeing a white-haired wizard shoot fire at a small dog, which then goes on to summon a firing squad on them.

This isn't a criticism.
Instead of simply holding Mario, Sephiroth should've popped Kirby. He's a balloon, he's got a sword, he's supposed to be the saviour from Galeem, he killed Galeem - it fits thematically. Also I hate Kirby.
Nintendo fans: "Games are meant to be fun! Why give GOTY to a game that's just meant to make you cry?"

Honestly I'm just glad the SE rep ain't Geno, a bit of a richardish thing to say I'll admit, but it helps Waluigi's chances greatly given most of the supposed evidence for Geno could also apply to any other Mario character.
I'm not that mad about the Sephiroth reveal, but at the same time this is making me glad that I didn't buy FP2.
Also target audience theory is dead.

This was me. It's one of the like, 3 things I've done in my life I'm at all proud of.
My dad treats me like some paranormal extrasensory prodigy just because I consistently have lucid dreams.

Sonic Lost World is my favourite modern Sonic game, but that's mostly because it doesn't even try to be a Sonic game. I'd say that's better than trying to replicate what made Sonic so great and failing.

"I would've had to cut the FE reps to get Wario" Sounds like the brightest timeline to me.
Celeste is one of my favourite indie games gameplay-wise, but the plot feels very unsubtle to me. I'm not against platformers having plots, or even emotional plots for that matter - but Celeste feels super pretentious.
Then again, if it helped people get through hard times like I've heard, it was all worth it. Plus I can't really judge since most times I try to conceptualise a story or character I usually put in a little too many emotional beats.
Imagining based Nintendo in an alternate timeline...
I find the appeal of Geno really hard to understand. He's a wooden puppet with a gun for a hand who's possessed by a star. An original and interesting concept, don't get me wrong, but even when compared to other Mario RPG characters he's not that unique. A cloud who can control the weather and was raised by frogs, a transgender witch-ghost with fire hands, a narcissistic but heroic warrior made of beans, deranged rabbit versions of existing characters - I can see why people like ol' Howdy Doody over there, but I don't get why he's so popular.

Turns out chess is basically the Smash Bros. of real life sports - takes equally as much effort and passion, is equally as intense to watch, but people just don't take it seriously because of gameplay differences. I never knew about the "is chess a sport?" debate and just assumed it has a competitive scene, therefore it's a sport - which I still stand by.
"Food gets tricked into being eaten" ads are supposed to be darkly funny, but they just end up being unironically tragic.
Most criticisms of any esport can be shot down solely by imagining them applied to a regular sport like tennis, chess or football.
I like Smash Remix, but I've always disliked that they never truly 100% devoted to the time period and include references to and characters from games released after 1999.

In the UK we never had the classic Christmas movies like Charlie Brown and Rudolph - we just watch a bunch of random animated movies that have nothing to with Christmas.
One of these movies is literally a Valentines' Day movie.
All this time the Bugsnax theme was singing "kinda bug and kinda snack", and not "find a bug, become a snack"? but like... the latter interpretation fits the game better!
I feel like the world has slowly turned against Charmander and towards Squirtle.
People often say you need conflict to tell a good story and I feel that's kinda true to an extent, but if you've got good enough characters and write them well enough, anything can be entertaining - even going to the store to buy some milk or hell, watching paint dry! - but you probably would need to get the reader/viewer/listener invested in the characters first (hence why "fluff" generally works better as fanfiction or one-off episodes of TV shows) and would need characters more fit for mundane situations.

I feel memes like this that I loved when I was 15 or so has not only impacted my sense of humour, but also my sense of story telling.
Me and a friend write fanfiction AUs together, and his ideas are all normal things like "what if this character was the opposite gender?" "what if this character was that character's sibling?" "what if this character went through the adventures that character went through?" and mine are always like "WHAT IF THIS CHARACTER WAS A LIVING FOOD PERSON FROM A LIVING FOOD SOCIETY WHERE EATING ONE ANOTHER IS CONSIDERED NORMAL AND ACCEPTABLE BECAUSE THEY CAN ALL REGENERATE AND THEY HAVE PEOPLE RESTAURANTS" or "WHAT IF THIS CHARACTER LIVED IN A WORLD WHERE BEING GROTESQUELY OBESE IS HEALTHY AND THE NORM AND THEY'RE THE SIZE OF 3 PEOPLE FROM OUR WORLD STACKED ATOP EACH OTHER."

When I play Omega/BF, my first options are usually Fourside or Super Happy Tree, both of those stages are super aesthetically pleasing.
