I'd probably really want Q*Bert in Smash if it weren't for him being one of the extremely few Sony IPs that have been on a Nintendo console, I don't want another Banjo situation. Same goes for Lemmings, even though they'd also be a microcompuer rep.

Kangaroo Jack for Multiversus. On the CSS screen he appears to be a rapping kangaroo, but when the battle actually begins you're playing as the son of a crime boss.

I really hate this notion. Dark and edgy stories have always been the norm for children's entertainment even during the most regulated and censored eras, if anything there isn't enough purely comforting "iyashikei" media outside of anime or the preschool age range.

Imagine how ****ing insane it'd be in the SMSB universe to see "4th parties" confirmed, and then Goku disconfirmed 2 characters later.
While I don't think WOL is good by any means, I do appreciate how it doesn't take itself as seriously as the cutscenes would imply with a lot of wacky setpieces and such.
It's kinda interesting how people never really use Bugs Bunny to represent WB as a corporation the same way people use Mickey Mouse. I feel there's 3 possible explanations for this:
- Bugs and his IP holders already have edge and maturity, turning him into an evil mastermind isn't shocking like it is for the modern Mickey
- Bugs' cartoons are both more easily accessible and more beloved than Mickey's, and therefore people who want to comment on corporate situations would be too attached to Bugs to interpret him as an icon of a corporation's downfall or mistakes
- Warner Bros. don't use Bugs as a mascot as often as Disney uses Mickey, nor are they as fiercly protective of him and therefore he isn't universally readable as representing Warner Bros. and using him to criticise them doesn't feel like "sticking it to the man" as much as shallow parody.

I had a dream where Lego Dimensions had a Robot Jones pack.
That was it, that was the dream.
They changed the ending, and I don't know whether to be happy or sad about that - like, on one hand the original ending always rubbed me the wrong way, but on the other hand it was always pretty damn funny to see Pac-Man smile like a psychopath after eating a guy.
I guess if I had to make Pac-Man less of a sociopath in this context I'd make it so Orson was having an angry tantrum instead of crying? I dunno. Either way Pac-Man became friends with Orson in World 3 so it's not like it's completely destroying Pac-Man canon.
EDIT: Oh, turns out the new ending is the 100% completion bonus and the original ending is the "bad ending". I like that. Clever way to handle a divisive part of a classic game.
5 Minute Crafts' Polar looks like someone put Hatsune Miku through the "90s Sega box art" filter.
This is seriously some of the coolest crap. It's so terrifying. What makes it all the more unsettling is it's characters you know too.
I often see a notion from Smash fans that more buttons inherently means more complex, even though often times it's the opposite - even as a kid playing PSASBR (a game that actively encourages strong move spam mind you) I was able to use light and strong moves in tandem more effectively than I could playing Smash as an adult just from the button layout alone.
One of the songs in UmJammer Lammy taking place in Hell implies one of two things
- Lammy partakes in unethical business behind the scenes
- Heaven does not exist in the PaRappa universe, Hell does
I get that Sakurai's channel is more a general thing than Smash specifically, but I would seriously love to learn more about the design of Smash's DLC - albeit in more of a "morbid curiousity"/"what not to do" sense, but still.

While I do dislike the Mario series' reduction of original character concepts outside the platformer series and the lengths they go to avoid subseries "cross contamination", regardless of whether the mandates exist or not, I also think Origami King and Colour Splash have way better Mario stories than TTYD or Super and toning down the serious tone was an extremely good decision.
I like how Multiversus' Morty trailer just calls him "a Morty", I've always liked the idea of Smash referring to generic species characters with "the winner is... a Pikachu!" or "Vs. a metal Piranha Plant!"
Conservapedia is the only source I know to have refered to the existence of "Kangaroo Jack 2: G'day USA!" as "lucky"
Something interesting I noticed on the eShop: Hugh alone has outsold Jenny alone, but not the entire Universe Pass.

Accidentally based
PSASBR Nathan Drake is so funny because like, if you have no context of Uncharted (like I did as a kid) it just likes a normal run-of-the-mill guy is throwing hands with Kratos and PaRappa - like, if they added the Sims (AKA actual run of the mill average joes) to Smash or PSASBR they'd at least have fun outfits and a slight stylisation
Nothing against Drake though, I'm sure he and his source material are great in their own right, I just think his design is humourously uninteresting outside of his intended context
I had this game as a kid called "The Dog Island", based on those old fisheye lens dog toys, apparently it has some dark themes but I don't think I ever got far enough to see them (between this, Drawn to Life, and Dog's Life, a recurring theme with my childhood games lmao), either way when I first saw the intro as a kid I thought they were singing "I always think of you and all stripey fancy and bright noses" (it actually said "and I'll try to cross the endless ocean") and was so confused when I couldn't customise my dog's nose when selecting a breed.
If a Guilty Gear character had an airdash as a "gimmick" in Smash, that'd honestly be a way bigger insult than not having airdashing at all. At that point you may as well release Luigi DLC for Mario Odyssey and advertise "he can do the spin move without motion controls" as a selling point. -
