    So I played Quickplay and Elite Smash last night and I had a blast despite a few matches that lagged like hell. Got Min Min, Simon, and Bowser Jr. into Elite Smash so now I have 6 characters in Elite Smash others being Ridley, Ganondorf, and K. Rool.

    I met someone I had a fun time with, played with some other skillful players, got annoyed by Lucas spammers and this one Meta Knight spammer and the lag. I had a fun time last night. I plan to get Mewtwo into Elite Smash next.

    Anyone here read One Piece chapter 1000 this week? I read it on my birthday yesterday and it was amazing. Luffy is literally looking like the Pirate King now whether than just a boy chasing his dream.

    Strong Badam Strong Badam do you know how to get images and gifs working in the image box on Smashboards on my phone? The image box doesn't seem to work for me on mobile anytime I try to upload a image or gif on here with my phone.

    I posted the direct link earlier. To find it on mobile (I guess it depends on your browser), long press on the image and select Open Image In New Tab. Clicking on it on that website does not open a direct link.

    So I started playing Ultimate in Quickplay again and I manged to get K. Rool back in Elite Smash as well as Ganondorf. Ridley I'm still trying to get back in Elite Smash. But man, it's annoying sometimes with the lag and all. Like, there was a few times where I did Side B with Ganondorf or Ridley but my controller with the joycon swifting bull**** or the lag response acted like I pressed a Down Special instead. It's a little annoying. I wish Nintendo would fix the damn joycons on the Switch controllers so we don't have that damn swift.

    It was a blast, but it seems like it's over for Geno speculation on Smashboards until Smash 6 or until he get's announced as a playable character. Well guys, we had one hell of a ride and one hell of a run. We almost mange to pass 4000 pages with ended up at 3744 pages before it was shut down. Keep in mind that the Ridley Smash 4 thread was 1952 pages which was the biggest character support thread on this site's history before we surpassed it. That's a incredible feat guys that I think will never be replicated. I think the Ultimate Geno thread will reign as the champion and number 1 for that record forever.

    Edit added text: I'm going to miss Fatman's theorycrafting. Offbi, Franco, and Malo's meme posting. QQS, Enigma, YsDisciple and Forsaken's optimistic posts. I'm going to miss it all.

    So I just got on Switch Online for the first time yesterday and picked up Quick Play on Smash online and it sucks. Ultimate's online is even worse than Smash 4's as I even remember the last game being real bad about lag online. I was able to get K. Rool and Ridley into Elite Smash but quickly lost that status as I was losing half of the matches I fought in. I also think it sucks too that once you get characters in Elite Smash you can only play as those characters when playing with others on Quick Play unlike Smash 4 where you could switch to a different character when you were playing with someone you don't know. I don't know if a Lan adapter will reduce the lag in any great amount, but for now unless it's with a friend I'm done with Ultimate online. The bad lagging is the reason I stopped playing Smash online for years as lag gives cheap wins and match ups for others.

    And you know it sucks I can't play at my full potential and best online because of the lag. Sometimes I just think I should just start playing at local Smash tournaments.

    That would be a nice option if tourneys could be safely open in this situation but they can't because Nintendo shows they have no empathy for their fandom, you're screwed in the only other option which is playing online.

    After last nights events, it makes me curious to find out who the last 3 fighters are in Fighter's Pass 2. Sephiroth's inclusion shows we don't know jack **** about anything or who's coming.

    True. But Roy was in Melee before he was in the Binding Blade so I could see them putting BOTW Zelda in the Fighter's Pass as disappointing as that would be.

    As far as I see that's been the only explicit instance. We haven't had a character be put out that soon since then, so that concern seems unwarranted.

    Plus Roy was a clone and not a unique fighter in Melee so he was easy to implement in since they didn't have to make a unique moveset for him.

    Crash, another Capcom character (Monster Hunter, Dante, or Leon with several character alts) and a Botw Champion or young Impa are my predictions. I would've considered a Pokemon like Cinderace but I think we're too late for one right now. Who knows really. Sephiroth was a huge surprise so anything could happen.

    Now Master Hand would be cool. If Smash ever get's a original fighter it has to be Master Hand. He was there from the beginning and it is theorized that Master Hand is the boy that was picking up the Smash fighter toys in the Snash 64 opening.

    So I heard from xenother xenother that one of his sources heard a rumor in 2018 that they were working on Chun-Li during base game but scrapped her due to not finding a satisfying enough moveset in time. If this is true, I think Chun-Li is very likely as DLC.

    How could they not find a stasifying moveset for a character who already has a moveset totally fully laid out already?

    Who knows. Sakurai said in a Famitsu Column that Heihachi was considered in Smash 4 but didn't make it in due to it being too hard to implement a moveset for him. Could be a similar situation. Here is the link to that translated Famitsu Column on Source Gaming's site:

    2. :ultbyleth: - One of the few characters that I was actually hoping got in. Unpopular opinion, but I feel like Byleth deserved a spot in the pass (although he probably shouldn't have been the last one revealed).
    3. :ultjoker: - Probably the coolest dlc character gameplay-wise imo.
    4. :ulthero: - The good kind of jank. Love this character.
    5. :ult_terry: - Really unique character with cool mechanics. Definitely not a character I expected to be put in smash, but I'm glad he was.
    6. :ultsteve: - Neat character with some cool ideas. I don't have much attachment to minecraft so I can't say much.
    7. :ultminmin - Eh, not a huge fan. Her kit feels too janky to me personally, but I understand why they put her in.
    8. :ultbanjokazooie: - I have no personal attachment to banjo so I don't really care for him all that much. Plus I just don't like his kit. I'm happy for the people that wanted him though.
    ????. :ultpiranha: - I honestly forget this character is in the game most of the time lol.

    Overall I think all of the DLC has been pretty good. I don't really care that much about who they put in, I'm just happy to have new characters.

    I like all of the FP1 characters and have no opinion of :ultsephiroth: since he isn't released yet.
    1. :ult_terry: - IDK something about Terry just sticks with me. Maybe it's because he's a (traditional) fighting game character?
    2. :ultjoker: - No comment.
    3. :ultbanjokazooie: - Wasn't a fan of Banjo & Kazooie at first, but they slowly grew on me.
    4. :ultbyleth: - Byleth was actually one of my "most wanted", but I don't like the direction they took him/her with his/her moveset. Instead of what makes Byleth unique, the devs decided to give Byleth a bunch of weapons... making him/her less unique in the process. I still like to play Byleth though; I'm just disappointed that's all...
    5. :ulthero: - The FP1 character I like the least. I wasn't a huge fan of Dragon Quest, but the Hero is a little fun. I dislike how the devs handled the "Command List" because it makes international play more of a cluster**** than it has to be (unless you're playing wirelessly).
    6. :ultsteve: - Steve's okay. He's just not my cup of tea. I like how the devs added Minecraft to Smash, though.
    7. :ultpiranha: - PP's okay too. PP just didn't stick with me. Not only that, but if it was supposed to be a joke character, I don't think it was very funny after the initial reveal. It's got a cool amiibo, though.
    8. :ultminmin - Min Min's the only DLC character that I dislike. It's not because "NUUU WE NEED SPRINGMAN" (although, admittedly, I would've preferred Springman over Min Min), but rather because I think she feels boring to play. I don't think she's a waste of a slot, but I do think she's a waste of potential.

    We just got our first 3rd party villain and our first unique secondary 3rd party rep. Characters like Dr. Eggman, Tails, and Chun-Li are on the table now.

    So I'm not one for theorycrafting on the Pic of the Day photos, but does anyone have the feeling this is Sakurai reflecting on the modding community because of piracy?


    After all, Nintendo has been on a big hunt lately shutting down mods and online tourneys that would happen to use them.

    So anyone here knows how to upload pictures here on the phone? I know you put the link address or the image itself from your computer into the image box, but it never works for me when I'm on my phone. I can always do omit on my computer but never my phone. I wish someone could tell me how I can fix this and do it on the phone.

    So in y'alls' opinion, who would be the most underrated Smash request ever? It would be so hard for me to answer that as there are so many cool and wacky characters who don't get the love and respect they deserve. I could name like 40 characters, but if I could narrow it down to one character outside of my biasness, that would almost be impossible for me to choose.

    So if Waluigi were to make it into Smash Bros. as a playable character, should he come with Waluigi's Pinball from Mario Kart DS or Waluigi's Island from Mario Party 3 as a stage? I honestly would prefer Waluigi's Island as a stage as it would have a lot of traps and be a unique stage to play on. Plus it would give us a Mario Party stage which we haven't gotten yet.

    When you close your eyes and dream. But really though, I have a hard time trying to go to sleep. I did the overnight freight shift for 3 years and even though I don't work freight anymore, I still can't get use to sleeping at night. I have a easier time trying to fall asleep during the day than nighttime probably because that's been my sleeping routine for the past 3 years.

    Kids and whiskey does it for me. I’m usually already sleep before I get into bed. Having kids really conditioned me to sleep when I can; especially since I had trouble sleeping when I was younger. When my oldest kid was a newborn, I would barely sleep at all. I remember going almost five whole days with not even an hour of sleep. It got so bad that I almost fell asleep while teaching my classes. I always felt that I should be awake and helping with the baby; even when my wife told me to sleep. So after two kids, I’m conditioned to get barely any sleep but to sleep when I find time. My youngest is almost 1 now and finally got a more consistent sleep schedule around summer time. Still, my bed time is around 11 or midnight, after I finish for my prep work the next day or to have free time and I’m back up at 4:30 or 5. I can barely sleep in last 6 anymore. Long story short, chasing kids around all day and a glass of whiskey is enough to knock me out at the end of the day.
