I’ve seen people say that Sora is now impossible, but I’m gonna laugh in their faces when he eventually becomes playable.

I was more of a Geno guy, but if Geno can't get in than I hope at least Sora fans get their boi. 2B and Crono could also still happen as well. Geno isn't entirely out, but he's extremely unlikely.

I will rage if Crash isn't in.

I'm expecting Crash, but I don't think he's guaranteed to happen. The characters the Smash community thinks is the most likely more than half of the time really isn't as popularity or relevancy isn't the only factors that Sakurai and his team go off of when deciding characters. Crash is a giant gaming icon bring the former PS1 mascot. But that doesn't mean he will get chosen.

Sora requires negotiations with Disney. That's gonna be a lot of money to get him in.

Imran Khan the former editor of Game Informer the biggest gaming magazine in the west said in a podcast that he thinks Nintendo already approached Disney for Sora and it might have not turn out well. He thinks either Sora or Master Chief will be in before this game is wrapped up which I could believe.

Disney actually shells out the license to whoever’s willing to take, hence the existence of some…questionable KH merchandise.

Crash is pretty much gone, because Activision's not willing to shell out their IPs to other game companies.

If Activision isn't willing to play ball with Crash, than I could see Ubisoft willing to with Rayman. Ubisoft and Nintendo have been pretty tight in the past few years with the Mario & Rabbids crossover and the Star Fox crossover in Starlink. I think he could happen.

Never stand between a wild Activision and a quarter.

I'm still betting on someone from BotW, I just hope it isn't Zelda.

I'm afraid it will be Zelda if we get a BOTW rep. I would honestly greatly prefer Urbosa, Mipha, or Impa over Zelda.

Well we already have 3 Links and 2 Zeldas so it isn't impossible.

Yeah I have a gut feeling that's something nintendo would do, assuming Sakurai doesn't have the final say on botw reps. The champions would be pretty hype as dlc.

The dream scenario would be if we got all the Champions in a Pokemon Trainer type gimmick. But that's SUPER unlikely though.

The only way BOTW Zelda will get in here is if she becomes a confirmed, full-on adventurer in BOTW2 (Warriors stuff doesn't count, due to being in a legal grey area). It's bizarrely the one time a character's job position actually prevented them from getting in Smash.

Luckily, BOTW2 is taking ages to get a release date, so I doubt we'll see this happen by the time Ultimate's DLC support ends.
