The cringey dialogue and voices are funny in the sonic adventure games but in something like colors it’s just sad and some of the attempts at making jokes are really just painful

Long post about Chris Chan, but mostly how people preserve her life
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with being interested in Chris Chan but people who document literally everything about her life should really stop saying they’re doing it for “internet history” or “preservation.” Yes, she has had a fairly big influence on the internet, and yes, if you watch a documentary show on Youtube about her whole story you’re gonna learn some things about the old internet. But the thing is, documenting one person’s life to what is arguably a historically record-breaking degree is not the same as documenting history or preserving media.
I want to reiterate that I don’t have a problem with being interested with her life, and it’s good to preserve some parts of peoples lives, especially because of how the internet makes it easier. But Chris Chan is not a historical figure and people shouldn’t be claiming to be “internet historians” because they keep records of her life. You wouldn’t call a tabloid writer or someone commenting on celebrity drama (not saying they’re 100% equivalent to Chris Chan but they’re similar) a historian so you wouldn’t call someone who keeps track of Chris Chan a historian. People who do this genuinely don’t do it for “internet history” they do it because they’re interested in the trainwreck and the conflict.

I like the game and all, but man, I do not understand why people say Soul Calibur is one of the best fighting games ever, and even one of the best games ever.
I’ve been playing great ace attorney recently and let me tell you, the whole gag with sherlock holmes, er, herlock sholmes, where he’s so confident in his random deductions that are completely ridiculous is so hilarious to me and it makes me laugh every time

The smash 4 main theme is underrated

I dislike when someone who finds a classic game “bad” or “underrated” tries to underscore or delegitimize it’s importance to the gaming industry.
Apologies if this sounds harsh, but man the idea that Ring Fit Adventurer (or trainee, i don’t care) in Smash is just a “haha funny meme pick” is just plain stupid. Like it’s just dumb, no way around it.

The first three mortal kombat games are complete trash. I would rather be forced to beat the original 1987 street fighter than beat one of the original mortal kombat trilogy games.
It’s funny how super metroid is often considered the best in the series, but in terms of the story of the games it’s the least important

The “threads” function on discord seems like a very cool thing that no one will ever use
I think people fundamentally misunderstand the way third party DLC characters are added to Smash. Of course I can never be 100% sure of how the industry works, but the way people seem to think it works is that Nintendo goes to visit a company, asks "which character do you think should be added?" and then the company decides it. I don't think that's how it happens. I think it's more likely that Nintendo has a meeting to decide the characters by themselves and then goes to ask each company for permission, and then the companies can change the character if they would like.
I feel like it's just a lot more likely. Like do you think Sega would be like "yeah the top three characters you have to add are sonic, bayonetta and joker?" No, I think it's mostly Nintendo making the picks. I mean, Sakurai literally said Nintendo does make the picks.
Every time I've seen an instagram or twitter account complain about being "shadowbanned" their account has like three posts with slightly less likes than usual and those posts are really unfunny, hence why they have less likes
