I just had a really weird dream. I was playing a game called "Kill the Heavy." Which was a TF2 mod where a giant red Heavy would walk from one side of the map to the other. If he reaches the other side of the map, you lose. If you and your team manage to kill the Heavy, you win. All human players were on the same team and it was also a megacrossover for the roster. I remember how you could play as any class and team combination except you could only play as a blue Heavy in order to not create confusion with the big red Heavy. There were also payload carts apparently. Also it was in like, real life? And at my house?
Anyway, in the dream I had only played this game once before when it was released. But then I had seen a bunch of other people playing it so I decided to join in. There were a few moments I remember, like one time a payload cart was going really fast towards the base and I stopped it. Or another time when a payload cart was being pushed by a few enemies and tons of other people were pushing it back. It felt pretty exciting. One time it changed to "Kill the Chad" where instead of a Heavy there was just Chad from the "Virgin vs. Chad" memes.
I then realized why a bunch of people started playing it. Nintendo was shutting the game down. Apparently it was a limited-time release like Super Mario Bros. 35 and today was the day it shut down. And bunch of other people were talking about how sad it was and how the game could have been better. One point of discussion was how there was only one map. (I believe it was the dinosaur area from Mario Odyssey with the layout of a flat plane with a few rocks in the shape of cubes.) I suggested they could add 2Fort and someone else suggested "that place from Ocarina of Time." (which I believe was a forest area.) I even thought of started a Smashboards creation thread for a sequel. Anyway, in the game we weren't doing so well. The Chad was right near our base and slowly walking towards it. We tried firing on him with everything we had, but it was no use. As I stared at him, I thought about how he could represent the closure of this game, we could try and delay with all our might, but it will always come in the end. And then, he reached the base, we lost, and we could never play the game again. So then we all walked to our cars (well, except for me, if it really was at my house) to go home. I thought of saying "the real Chad in that game was all of you guys!" or something similar, but I didn't due to how few people were left.
