^ if im tech chasing on a platform with a wl, i try to follow up with a grab or dash attack to continue the combo. its a nice mix up, as only a uair (if u tech chase from below) can continue a combo. this is of course only if i had enough time to react, and typically on smaller stages (like not dreamland as much...). idk, just my .02, dont know if its useful. im sure there are even better applications.
It's definitely useful. Thanks, Baka. Mix-ups with Peach are hard to come by, so something like this helps a good deal.

I've never had someone who tried to reflect a turnip at me...that's weird. I feel like I'd get confused.

Oh nice! I tend to do short-hop turnip throws, which pretty much **** up my game. Maybe it's time to be more cautious with that, and rather do it like that if I see an opening!

We should talk some matchups (matchups I hate) over a game of Mario Party 5 at BEAST II. :p

(alle vet at det er trøndere som vinner i lotto!)
Short-hop is better in some situations so just mix up between them.
That would have been awesome =).

If I feel like I have enough time (need to work with pools exc during the tournament and I need to play enough smash before the tournament starts :p) then we can do that for sure =).

If not we can play some friendlis in melee at least :p

Hey armada, I was trying to watch various peach players including your self to see some situations where you grab. Other than normal grabbing off poorly spaced aerial or obvious **** ups, what situations would you tend to grab in as peach?

I ask this because my friend who I train with says I have a good edge guarding and combo game, but as a former peach main he told me I don't grab enough.

The f-tilt is pretty much a move no one uses. So i have been messing around trying to find some practical application for it. I have noticed it is a very disruptive move, if timed right it stopped a lot of different attacks and set up (a certain percents) nice combos. The problem was timing it was a *****. So i tried it in teams and it was a lot more effective. Has anyone else tried using it in teams or know any practical way of using it? or should i just stop trying to find a good use for it

I'm learning Peach at the moment, so quick nub question, is it better to JC Grab or just Dash Grab during her Uthrow chaingrab? And what chars does it work on? Just Falcon, Falco, Fox?

we have a frame topic stickied, just check that out. iirc they come out on the same frames, but dash grab has more range, but also more end lag (which doesnt matter if you make the grab)

I never JC grab when chain-grabbing, and I rarely miss. Falcon is especially easy to chaingrab, but gets out at like.. 90%? correct me someone.

@Armada: Friendlies is a must!

I think it is around 80% but I could be wrong. Also I agree JC grabs just doesn't have the reach a dash grab does

Peaches movement makes her seem very intimidating to other characters. With some welltimed dash attacks, you can scare opponents into shielding every time you dash at them. Try doing it until they start sheilding it, and be persistent. You wanna do it to the point where they think "Shielding is the answer to her dash attacking". Then you're allowed to basically approach with grab.
This isn't limited to the conditions above, people just really like to shield vs peach. Try to just observe when people shield as you space, chances are they won't stop if you swagger on up and grab.

I tried experimenting with that, Mafia on a falcon, and maybe it is just falcon, but he didn't seem to retreat in shield very often no matter how many big combos i got with dash attack. Maybe falcon doesn't have to shield a lot vs peach =/

My practice partner is a cf main. When he doesn't shield punish him the the dash attack. Until finally he shields. If not trying throwing in a das dance to make the da or dash grab less predictable.

I asked the same thing a few pages back. Armada said he was thinking of a use for it, but it's really bad. If you want to throw it in like...once a day in a random friendly, go for it, and tell us what you find.

Just echoing others, dash grab is best.

Level 9 Falcon's always leave my chaingrab in the 50s. I'm not sure if this means anything, cause it's a cpu, but I always assume that if a computer leaves the grab, then that's the cutoff percentage.

I don't think that, in general, Falcon's like shielding much. The Falcon that I played against for a while didn't shield that often. I'm not sure about their OoS options, but they don't seem excellent. I like forcing the person I fight to shield, cause he'll either go for a risky fair OoS, or roll.

I used to think that the golf club was best, but tennis racket has some kick to it. I think that we can agree that the pan is kind of bad. Well, I guess not, cause it can combo, but it has little to no kill potential.

Also, does Peach cycle through each F-smash in a specific order, or is it all random? I'm never really sure.

Id rather have the nicer range with the club than the better knockback of the racket personally, plus you have to sweetspot with the tip of the racket, iirc. Obviously golf club with racket knockback would be OP :D

If that were true, the turnips would look a lot more random, and I wouldn't get two smileys in a row. And I think I've gotten two stitches in a row before.

Double evil turnip...he wants to get Peach banned.

Is there any right way to use beam sword? whenever i get it, i kind of either just throw it (waste it) or joke around and swing with it. I have never experimented at all with it.

You have that mixed up, the golf club has a sweetspot at the tip of it.

Haha yah, I knew the club did, but doesn't the racket have a sweetspot also? Sometimes it hits at what seems like a much lower angle and with further knockback than other times? ...maybe I'm just crazy/wrong lol.

clearly he hasn't McCain. plus, it's all in the racket anyway. it's so amazing, it ignores DI and percent.
