In a way it's kind of sad how predetermined things are with tournaments. If it's a US tournament: Is Mango in the tournament? Mango is going to win. Or if it's a European Tournament: Armada is going to win. My point is that it comes down to two, three players that are more or less destined to win every major tournament. I kind of wish the controversy for "best player in the world" was expanded beyond just Mango, Armada, Hbox etc. etc. and included not even the top 5, but the top 10. I feel like this would encourage competitive play and get rid of the bull**** mentality of "trying for second" that many players who aren't Mango or Armada have aquired. Sadly, this is not the case and so with that I look forward to watching the continued saga of Mango vs. Armada.

Consistency in results is a sign of a good game.

The fact that there is such a skill gap even at the top shows how deep Melee is.

I personally prefer that to games like Marvel where a guy gets 2nd at EVO (Infrit) and loses to a no-name low tier team the very next week.

Armada thought he was the best after genesis? OK, but that was 3 freaking years ago. Give the guy a break.

And to the 2 people from socal claiming that the issue isn't settled yet, come on. All you're doing is giving the entirety of europe a great reason for doing the same when Mango starts winning again.

To say for the umpteen millionth time what 97% of americans already know, armada's the champ right now. Whether or not he was a good sport after genesis doesn't affect that, and regardless of what he does he'll have a really hard time being a worse sport than mango.

To say for the trillionth time what literally everyone already knows, leffen is the scum of the earth and should be kicked with steel-toed boots until a rib punctures a lung and he drowns in his own blood.

Yo, Leffen, why are you being so rude? You go and say that Armada is a sore loser but when he responds and points out that he says that to bolster his confidence, and regrets that post but doesn't deny it, you tell him that HE made it personal because he points out how much of a sore loser you are, too. It's like Armada says something collected and respectful (I don't care about spelling or grammar, he doesn't speak this language natively) and you just counter with immaturity and rudeness. And also, this is supposed to be about Mango. What the hell >.<

EDIT: And by the way, I do think that Armada is the current world champion, at least until Mango either beats him convincingly or beats him repeatedly. That is, if Dr.Peepee hasn't won it all by then. The man's just fantastic at this game.

Well I will leave this thread (at least not talk about what I have done recently).
Never was my intention to turn this into such a big thing and I will think more about my own actions in the future.

i definitely think and know armada is the best right now. he's #1, top of the world, no denying, ETC

but the next 3 tournaments are going to be very very sick

But have you talked with Boback/Germ or someone about Genesis 3? Cause last time I heard from them it seemed like it's not gonna happen but it was a long time ago so I wish they have changed their minds.

How was I johning for him? While I don't deny that he's the current best in the world, and I do respect his accomplishments greatly, I'm really not a fanboy of his. No offense to him but I find some other players more fun to watch, but just going by this thread, sure he got heated too, but there was no need for Leffen to just call him out. He kept it much more civil, that's all I'm saying.

We're all civilized people here, and it's easy to get caught up in arguing on the internet, when it's not face-to-face. On the chance that I meet you face-to-face at a tourney, I wouldn't want to say anything I might regret.

Armada I understand your points and I can see what you mean RE: your mindset even though I do not share it. Obviously it's working for you, so. :D I appreciate your response.

Won't say any more about the great debate since that seems to be dying down anyway. But shoutouts to everyone who kept it on the level.

Someone needs to design flags for some of these nations. I wanna see flags for Mango nation, Armada nation, Scar/Darkrain/SS nations, like half of Arizona (can be separate or not imo, I would carry an AZ flag for days), um... PP/HBox/M2K prolly have nations...

And just a bigass flag with the Melee symbol superimposed over Earth to show that we are united by the game. Because <3 Melee <3.

In short, make love not war.
