How does Pal sucks?
It's way more balanced so I don't see why it is worse. You also have to work harder for your things in Pal and it's not something way to easy to pull of.

reasons PAL sucks:

1. Leffen plays it. **** leffen.
2. Fox's upsmash is dumb.
3. PAL gamecubes use different shaped plugs

oh and only like 3 good players play PAL, making it less entertaining.

as for the whole thing with you *****ing about everybody talking about how mango is amazing, don't take it personally. We would still say that Mango is number 1 if he consistently got last at every tournament for the next 5 years.
the only thing that would ever make me admit that mango might not be the best is if he were to lose to Leffen... but I just don't think thats even possible because Leffen is a nub and sucks at ledgedashing.

Fox's U-smash is clearly overpowered in NTSC, so they made it more reasonable in PAL. I don't agree with other changes like Fox's shortened recovery, Marth's D-air being a meteor, Link's Spin Attack change, or Marth, Fox, and Mario being lighter. I understand that people who play characters who were nerfed in that version won't like it, but that doesn't mean it's worse for the game. They weren't the best changes, but I think PAL is a step up from NTSC overall.

It's way more balanced so I don't see why it is worse. You also have to work harder for your things in Pal and it's not something way to easy to pull of.

I think PAL sucks because the changes neuter some of the cool aspects of some characters while allowing others.

Like, if a game is good, then it's nuances are seen as part of the game and cool, or at the very least flawed, but flawed in an acceptable way. For example, sheik can chaingrab bowser to death. People stopped being salty about this a long time ago, now it's just part of the game. If a game is bad, it's nuances are also seen as bad or annoying, such as tripping in Brawl.

So when I go to PAL and fox's recovery just doesn't make it, or his upsmash just won't kill the opponent, I won't think it's "better balanced", I'll think it's annoying. To me, the game was not perfect, but I also don't think it should have been changed, and any changes that I don't like will be seen as negative, not positive. And as a Zelda player, I won't be glad that fox's upsmash kills me later, because I still don't think it should have been changed, and frankly it doesn't even solve the initial problem.

All IMO.

Armada has been beating Mango consistently for over one year and a haf (two years?), yet some people still claim that Mango's the best, "because you know he's the best".

Well Mango has NEVER outplayed/beating me 3 times in a row.
Takeing sets from me at one single tournament (Genesis1) compared to 3 for me (Genesis/Genesis 2/ Apex 2012).

Worth remembering is that he is behind 3-2 in sets too.
And also last time he did outplace me was beginning of 2010.

So Mango overall has been beating me less times and when he won it was 2009 and last time he did outpace was early 2010.

With your logic I should be the world champ until at least 2016 (longer if I win anything against him in the mean time).

As secret service/body guard/official driver of the Mango Nation, I still say this:

Mango is the best in America. Armada is the best in the world.

This is fact. I don't like saying it a damn bit but everyone needs to get their heads out of their ***** and accept the damn truth. But if I go to Apex, believe me, I'll be right there cheering for him the whole way.

Armada, you need to understand though that there is no such thing as a balanced game. At least of course, so long as other characters are better than others. Umbreon put it fairly well so far, but in all honesty, there is no absolute "better version". It is simply to each his (or her) own. I've never played PAL though, so I can't sit here and say how one is better than the other.

But this topic has gone extremely off base. Would prefer not to have to read constant bickering. I have enough of that in my own Melee community, lol.

i'm not really looking at sets individually, and the only legit time I consider you beating mango (imo) was genesis 2

and mango beat you at genesis 1

so yeah it might be silly logic, and mango (apparently) has been in super try hard mode and apex 2012 is his time to prove it

I have no idea how good in shape Mango was at Apex 2012 but he was rapeing everything until WF and destroyed PP at Rom 4(?) 4-5 weeks before Apex 2012 (if big tournaments like that was held that often in Europe )
