Then there are people like me who learned about competitive melee really late, as in fall of 2007. Learned as many AT's as possible, tried to copy pros, but in the end realized it would take years to master the game, in terms of going in depth described a bit in the "Playing to Learn" thread.
So I turned to Brawl hoping it would provide an easier access to competitive games, since I would be starting at the same (or relatively same) time as others and would not be so overwhelmed. Unfortunately Brawl turned out to be mediocre in terms of competitiveness, however I did learn a lot in terms of what goes on in the back of a person's mind as he plays. This was a big asset, so now if I did go back to melee I would be able to understand better why somebody would use move "a" instead of move "b".
I have to agree melee is a lot more fun in getting hyped up for. So Brawl wasn't that bad, and some types of people other than noobs resulted from it.
That being said, EL what are you going to do now in terms of gaming? I mean brawl seems out for you, and well you never really liked melee so what game are you moving on to now?
