You only need to press x, y, and start to reset a gamecube controller.

And Ness' ground game is a piece of crap. How is that sensitive at all.
By sensitive, I mean that it's a really touchy area to look into for buffs, changes would have to be precise as to not break him, I can just generally see alot of deadly combos being done and low percent kills.
I say his air game should do well to compensate.

Sorry if it's already been posted but I didn't feel like wading through more than just the last 7 pages or so. Does anyone have a .gct that has the most recent B+ codeset and File Replacement v2.1? AFAIK there's no version of the .gct compiler thingy for Linux so I can't just compile it myself (unless I go dig out my old Windows box, which I'm not doing). I've got the latest version of Gecko which finally allows more than 256 lines so I'm assuming putting the two codesets together is fine.
So yeah if anyone can post a compiled .gct for me I'd be forever in your debt.

I would do it but I'm too lazy at the moment, not to mention I have class in a few hours. If nobody has done it by the time I get back from work tonight (around 11pm est) just PM me or something I'll make the .gct for you.

Anyway so far I've seen.

Ness

-Stronger upsmash

-More useful PK fire

WHY?
Everything else about Ness is pretty ok. Ness's design makes him a bad character period..not much you can do about it really. Without DJC and an instant dair he will never be as good as his Smash 64 counterpart so you can pretty much give up on Ness being any good. I have managed to pull out a few amazing combos with him though...you guys will see in the NYC combo vid I'll be releasing later on. But at least with a stronger upsmash and better PK fire his ground game can be a little better and he'd have another KO option.

and..

Luigi

-Make dthrow to upb less "guaranteed"

WHY?
Do I really have to explain this? That move is already broken..jab to upb in regular Brawl was annoying enough..now this

I'm heavily in favor of both character's suggestions keep up the good work people, in no time we should have this as close to balanced as possible.

I have another suggestion but I'm not sure if it's necessary. It most likely isn't but I was using Jigglypuff's sing on a lvl 1 (yes lvl 1) cpu and they literally got out in .2 seconds. The move is absolutely useless. My suggestion is to...no, not make them sleep longer..but make the move duration less so that Jiggly can get out of sing animation for a potential rest or whatever. I dunno I guess she has other reliable ways to land rest but I just thought it would be awesome for Jiggs to have a useful sing attack finally. And if you get put to sleep you kinda deserve the eventual rest anyway.

/My .02 cents

What is the difference between the online and the offline version of the 4.0 codelists?
And do they both have the texture hacks enabled, or just the offline, or do i have to put the codes in manually?

Offline has the handicap=buffer code while online does not. You can get the 4.1 beta in IRC chat where texture hacks are on (or at least were in the last beta I played).

Please tell the people in charge of the download site to remove the buffer modifier code from the PAL version. I had the patience to search why Brawl was freezing up every time I selected a stage, had to find the code manager and replace the code, but I'm sure many of us europeans wouldn't, and rightfully so. Putting it up for download when you haven't even tested it defies common sense.

I agree with the luigi dthrow to up b but ness is pretty beast. I would like to see DJC come back though.

I would also like to add changes to the dtilt because at higher percents, it combos into the up b

In this I request fastfall during tumble makes it back in the official 4.1 set.
If used right this can prevent deadly combos like this, and make it to the ground for quick teching.
Actually...FFDT would have absolutely no effect on these kinds of combos (assuming they're true combos) because you can't fast fall during hitstun.

We should add it anyway though.

New to brawl+ and I was wondering what the difference is between the Offline and Online GCT? Since they both have the same file name I'm assuming I should know something or something...

Offline = Default buffer @ 2 frames with the handicap buffer system
Online = Default buffer @ 10 frames with No handicap buffer system.

So the online one retains Brawl's old buffer system? I almost wanna switch to that just cause I'm still having trouble adjusting, been so long since melee.

Do I smell Melee Fox's down throw gimp?
I don't, but I do smell proper fixes to issues like Pikachu's CG. As it is, the current fix is crude and I would like something that doesn't hinder the full potential of the throw at the same time.

Killjoys, the whole lot of you.
It can happen, plus it won't break Fox. Unless his shine goes back being 1 frame hit and jump cancel-able, Fox would be perfectly balanced with his predecessor's down throw.
Plus Fox+ is a ground fighter through and through, only with the occasional short hop aerials, he doesn't spend that much time in the air.

Shanus' latest 4.1 beta set is wicked.
Ike's down air is pretty broken however.
So is Link's down tilt.
And Wolf stole Melee Falco's shine.

Basically. I agree with this statement

It's not that I don't like the idea, I just feel like he is fine enough as he is.
I know it wouldn't break him in anyway, but I just feel like he doesn't need it by any means.

Well, yeah it's not high on the list of throws that need to be changed, but--
We have an unlimited line "limit", why?
In a nutshell, "Why not?"

I personally don't like how the dthrow works anyway. I'd rather it set up for ground things instead of a comboed usmash.

This.
Fox+'s throws are basically useless, there is little point other than variety and they all throw his opponent in the air--out of his element. It's like putting your opponent in a safe position.

No no no..........
PLEASE no........the Shine is bad enough...

I'd be fine it it doesn't have the Meteor property, but simply places the foe on the ground. Just make it techable too :D

We definitely need to fix broken stuff like Luigi's D-Throw -> Shoryuken combo, and maybe give Peach a killer F-Throw.

We have a long list of what we can do, but we should first focus on what we should do...

Just by making it a meteor won't make it a meteor. We still have the problem with the invisible floor. All I really care about is making the throw techable

The shine isn't that bad.
It certainly has nothing on a mouthful of Falcon (knee).
Nothing like Knee gimping :D

So how would resurrecting Melee Fox's D-Throw work? Just set the Base Knockback and the Knockback Growth to 0? Add a teching property and BAM!!! Tech it and be safe; miss it and get a face full of D/U-Smash :bee:

Figure out how gaw's throw works and copy paste. There is a launch angle that just puts you on the ground

I think Fox is great, and it seems to me that he has take over Melee Falco´s Pillar. Or is it just that I am playing againts bad players that can´t DI out of it? :p

Could you decrease the lag of ivysaurs fair? It's really hard to combo with, and it feels horrible to spam nair (lolnairlock) too much.

Also if you guys can let use waveshine with wolf that would be cool too .-.

EDIT:

To rival Luigi's cheap dthrow > upB combo, there's a Zelda dthrow > bair too..

You can DI her dthrow. Ivysaur's pretty good enough, just use the other pokemon.
