i have the turbo button on my controller and i find it easy to use for neutral B and i can do SHTLs better with it but its kinda sticky and gets in the way... should i use it or not?
1) Why are you using a turbo controller? That's not an excuse to slack on tech skill. You're not going to get any better like that. Also, how the hell do you plan to move around while lasering if that button is on?

2) SHTLs are usually not as good as SHDLs. You should be working on spacing and positioning.

3) Why the **** are you using a turbo controller?

4) Why the **** are you using a turbo contoller?

5) Why the **** are you using a turbo contoller?

Some characters pretty much can't get shine spiked, while others die like a ***** if they get hit.

Yea, there's no guaranteed kill that always works on a certain character. It's all based on distance from the ledge, momentum (see Link), recovery, and some small things.

Spamming the laser a lot, cheap, or just a part of Fox's playstyle?

Question arises by a lot of negativity targeted at my Fox, as I'm notorious for keep-away laser spam and hit-and-run combos. Especially against opponents who lack projectiles. (MK, Marth) Is the negative feedback due to the laser's effectiveness in gaining the advantage(i.e. Winning), or is there an unwritten rule that I have to only shoot my laser once or twice and rush at opponents who are more formidable in close combat. (MK, Marth)

Your opponents are just annoyed that you're kicking their *****. It's a mental tool, and if you're getting into their heads with it, then you're playing correctly. Of course, if they start telling you it's "cheap" or whatnot, it's time to find new friends to play with.

These are people who are used to placing 1st and 2nd in tournaments (MK), so I guess that explains it. Thanks for the response! There are other really good players who see my "Running away and being cheap" as a legit strat. Guess there's no shame in being hated for doing something well.

Normally people who place high don't john about things being cheap. Just keep playing the way you do.
Also, there is no excuse at all metaknight should be making about anything, let that be icies, camping, grab release, nothing at all. If the keep talkin crap just let them read this article (if they haven't already) and they wont complain anymore. http://www.sirlin.net/ptw-book/intermediates-guide.html

Quick question, Fair to Uair is a possible combo at some times (certain characters and percents) right?

I've pulled it off before but it takes accurate placement and is only feasible at certain percentages and scenarios. Its good stuff.

And I agree with DarkAura. Whenever I'm in a match up where I don't feel comfortable with Sonic I always switch to my Melee main Fox and take care of busniess by pelting on as much damage as humanly possible with the laser. Its tons of fun.

Fair to uair works sometimes. If you do get it to work, normally your are at the top of the stage with fair and will get the kill.

I have a question, actually...

how come MK's glide attack (possibly other glide attacks, but I haven't seen it) clanks with Fox's aerials?

Like...aerials are not supposed to clank, but Dair clanks the first hit, and then punishes... I've seen Nair clank... what's the cause of this?

Secondly, just to Zhamy... you use the term "boost smash" a lot. Previously, I knew that term as dash attacking, and canceling it with an usmash (DACUS).. is this what you mean by it?

That's different. DACUS has the dash attack come out, followed by the Usmash (think Falco's, or mortar sliding).

In a boost smash, the dash attack will not come out - you'll just see a long, gliding Usmash.

thats just a character rankings list. tourney placings.

Is the Boost smash of Fox useful, I remember it being useless,
but I could be wrong

Fair enough. I remember sheiks using the term DACUS (where I got it, actually), and their dash attacks do not come out... but thanks for the clarification. I was thinking the right thing...just wanted to make sure.

Ohai Sima. I should get back on #awesome some time.

It's kind of like Mute City, I guess? I've never really played there, because it's on the counter/banned list and no one ever picks it.
