Actually thats a good idea to use kirby, I might wanna secondary him too, lol

i like the fthrow to combo and kirby can mess with falco's recovery and sh.t with bairs and dairs
Yeah kirby is good vs Falco.

I know seibrik used kirby vs TommyG for awhile and was beating him.

Kirby is generally good vs all the space animals (though less so against Wolf than the other two).

I ask because ive seen vids of CO18 beating olimar in grands in a tourney, so if they are equal difficulty, one can only assume that you cant assume that falco will always win the match either.

I think olimar is worse if he can spam/avoid grabs/recover intelligently.

He has an easier time killing, so it's generally more scary for me lol

At least we can all agree that Ike and Ness are equally hilarious to gimp with the FLUDD.
Maybe the truest thing ever said on smashboards. Fludd is full of lulz.

do all fighting games have tourney this often?

cus I feel like other fighters dont have tourney nearly as much as smash does.
Most popular game console by FAR + Only competitive game on said console + ready-made community already in place = Most popular tournament game.

yep, youre very biased

PC tournaments (AKA lan parties) are really popular. in my state, monthly lan parties attract up to 6x the amount of players than brawl tournies do lol
Louisville KY, where I live, is by no means the biggest city around. We have a bi-monthly lan party called lanwar that routinely attracts 4-500 people. In the summer we do MML (million man lan) with the west coast, each side draws around 1000 people.

Lan parties are more popular than smash tournaments, however large lan parties generally feature console game tournaments as well, smash included. Just not big, hyped, super well organized ones.

Thats why matchups ALWAYS have the subtext of "in a fight between equally skilled players". If you're enough better than the other person, you win, no matter what characters you chose.

Isnt mario kart competetive? true question BTW.

I know florida has a banging smash scene, so I would assume grand finals of a tourney in said region would have at least close to equally skilled players...

A game the punishes you for winning (Blue Shell) and rewards you for losing (Bullet Bill), competitive?
fixed silly error.

Just because it's retardedly anti-competitive, doesn't mean ppl don't play it competitively :urg:

I guess it depends what you mean by "game x is competitive", when we have a disconnect between "game design encourages competition" and "game is played competitively". *shrug*

Nobody cares

ike > ness
ikes best moves > ness's best moves.
Ikes jab > Ness's f-air and PKT
Everything else is debatable but the jab being better than 2 of Ness best moves? A Jab vs 2 moves? Really now?

It's incredible how some character went from overused directly down to underused.

Utilt moar. It kills so early, like as fast as rest kills you. And your Bair is also hard to deal with.
its so true, DDD's Utilt is soo retardedly fast and overpowered lol, but its not too tough since jiggs can kinda just float around and Bait DDDs attacks all day since her horizontal air speed is like 3x DDD's.

DDD's range is 3x Jiggs too.
QFT. Camp more. Range is a real problem for jiggs. All the bad matchups are characters with good range (Oil, Marth, Snake, GaW)

You should report me as Wario/Lucas because I used Lucas to win against Pops's Zelda.

What are the rules on this? I thought if you used a character for just a couple matches then you shouldn't list them. I think Ankoku only wants your main... and secondaries only if you used them a lot. :ohwell: Ah well. I'll change it.
