Lifelight and the Brawl theme are really good songs, but super pretentious compared to their context. I want Smash to go back to being cheesy like in 64, you could see a bit of that in 3DS/Wii U.

I bet that in 6 or 7 years Persona 5 will be a laughing stock. It’s the exact sort of game that would be seen as super cool upon release but obnoxious and try-hard-y in a decade. Which is, let’s be real here, Sega tradition.
If 3rd parties were never added to Smash I feel Muddy Mole would be in by now. Despite often being the butt of “literally who” jokes there’s no denying MM is one of the more well known one-off Nintendo franchises and, even if he’s not on the level of Isaac or Takamaru, Muddy support dwarfs other lesser known Nintendo franchises like Drill Dozer, Sutte Hakkun, Tin Star, and even some more relevant/active series like Fossil Fighters, Ever Oasis, and Sushi Striker.
The reason mascot foot racing games never took off is because they all share names with adults-only age ratings
Jokes aside, please make more mascot foot racing games.
If I ever get my game concept off the ground, I have the feeling its fandom will be wrongly labelled as “toxic” for really stupid reasons and I’ll have to stand up for it.
I kinda see myself as the cool game dev who encourages fans to sell custom merchandise on Redbubble, gives approval to all fan art (including R34), helps fan projects, e.t.c.
Really as long as my characters aren’t used to spread hate, intolerance, or violence I’m fine with any way of them being interpreted.
This looks like a newspaper cartoon from an alternate universe where Ms. Pac-Man is a political figure.
Crash 4 may be the first game in history that objectively looks better on Nintendo hardware than MS.

It’s funny how a lot of EB fans don’t realise the game literally only got a Western cult following because of people stumbling across it on ROM sites. It wasn’t Smash, the die-hard Western Mother fandom predates Smash 64 by years. Try some obscurities for once, you’ll find a new favourite.
Why does viewing images from Wikia have to be such a chore on mobile?
As far as I can tell Summit and Minecraft World are the only Smash stages to intentionally provide an advantage to their series’ characters.
Why did they add swimming to Great Bay and Tortimer Island? They don’t work with the level layouts and utterly ruin the stages.

Am I seeing things, is this an effect to make it look more “dream like” or does Balan Wonderworld somehow have texture warping in a modern game?
I watched a video on why Roger Rabbit would never be created today, and one of the comments (not the video) said it wouldn’t be “PC enough”.
Like... literally nothing about Roger Rabbit could be interpreted as offensive, except MAYBE Jessica, but even then she’s actually a character and really not that sexualised compared to other cartoon characters, even those aimed at children.
This is the age of Rick and Morty, South Park and Family Guy - cartoons don’t offend people any more unless they’re actually problematic and not just playing it up for a laugh. Back when Roger Rabbit came out the Simpsons and Ren & Stimpy were considered offensive.

The crew system in Nick Kart Racers 2 is actually super cool, I’d love to see it tried in a more competent kart racer.
If DK was in Mario 64 DS it would’ve basically been Mario Avengers.
People who say “that’s like giving Tetris a plot!” about games like Mario or Sonic are very out of the loop when it comes to the falling block genre.
You know how you’ll sometimes get videos in your YouTube recommended from news channels devoted to dead franchises (I’ve seen some for Disney Infinity, EarthBound, and Skylanders for example) where they struggle to find any interesting news at all, and use obviously fake rumours to sustain their sense of hope? That’d be the perfect basis for a Catastrophe Crow/Mario Party anti-piracy esque ARG.
Other series’ fans: “Stop making spin-offs, we want a new main series game!”
Pac-Man fans: “Stop making main series games, we want new spin-offs!”
Whenever I read a sentence with “brown” in it I have an instinct to read it out loud in a bad impression of Mike Matei’s bad Inspector Gadget impression.
Considering how much of a ruthless 60s capitalist Walt Disney was, if he did come back today somehow he’d be pretty shocked at some of the movies his name has been put to.
Monsters Inc. is about valuing ethics over profits and fixing corrupt systems, Soul is about not tying self worth to ambition or productivity, Cars is about how the big guys should help out the little guys, and Wall-E is y’know, Wall-E.
TBH I’d prefer my favourite franchises to have a Sonic or Crash scenario where it’s mostly bad games but the good ones are excellent, over a Kirby scenario where there are no bad games, but also no games any better than good.

I’ve heard of truth in advertising but this is absurd
The concept of Kemono Friends is pretty creepy to me. Not because of the animation, not because of animals turning into cute girls, but rather because well... logistically it’s really messed up. So, all the animals at the zoo have turned into humans... and they keep them in the zoo? And use them as attractions? This is horrifying! I can take some objectively unnerving concepts being reworked as cute or silly, but this is... no. Just no. Am I missing some important context? I really cannot understand how the questions this raises could’ve passed by the creators’ heads.
Political humour in media, especially animation with how long it takes to make (looking at you modern Simpsons and Animaniacs reboot) only really works with either foresight or perpetuity. Topical event-related jokes work fine as social media posts, but for comedies that can’t be made in 6 seconds you should wait until they’ve long passed so the mention can be surprising and everybody knows the full story. Jokes about political inevitabilities that have been going on forever with no sign of stopping also work just fine and have the potential to age like a fine wine.
Controversial opinion: they should’ve localised Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 as Mean Bean Machine Tetris.
