I wouldn't say New SMB or Pokemon is Nintendo's "CoD/FIFA rehash series" - no, it's Yoshi's Island. People complain about Wario Land not getting any new games, but being a dead series with 5 legendary titles and 1 decent game is WAY better than being an ongoing, undying series with 1 absolute masterpiece, 1 decent game and truckloads of utter garbage.

It's weird how people say "Bandanna Waddle Dee is as unique as Captain Toad" as an argument FOR the character. "As unique as Captain Toad" sounds like the most disgusting, damning insult you could ever call anyone.
Is anyone else getting a weird glitch with Steve's gold where it disappears after being KO'd, but it still shows up on the HUD?
It's pretty hypocritical how cartoon review YouTube channels will take hours upon hours talking about how bad the "it's just for kids" argument is, before using that same argument to justify not giving a fair shot to preschool shows.

People like to joke about an Ashley/K. Rool rivalry in Smash, but I honestly prefer the idea of K. Rool treating Ashley like a surrogate daughter he can pass on the mantle of tyranny to.
I don't think lag is the problem, the problem is people playing with competitive rulesets but using the Final Smash meter.
I bought Mutant Mudds on Switch and uh... wow... this game has not aged well. I really liked the demo on 3DS as a kid but god damn it is terrible looking back. Please Nintendo, add a Switch refund policy.
Even though I'm not the biggest fan of his games, I imagine that if Bomberman got in Smash he'd be one of my favourite characters to watch. He absolutely strikes me as the sort of character who could pull of high IQ plays a la Pac-Man.

These mock ups look absolutely beautiful, I would love to go somewhere like this... that being said, this is modern day quote-unquote "Atari", (there's like 5 companies called Atari) and judging by how poorly that new VCS is coming along, it's too good to be true. Shame too, a retro gaming themed hotel, decorated to fit its decade of inspiration's graphic design, sounds amazing.
Conclusion: I can't wait for this Defunctland episode.
I think the thing that surprised me the most about the Steve reveal was how many people were unfamiliar with Alex. I always assumed she was known by all as an iconic part of Minecraft lore just like Luigi to Mario or Tails to Sonic, but seems not.
The menus on the Sega Ages games are so poorly coded they've tricked me into thinking I've got Joycon Drift multiple times. Still good rereleases though.
People often wonder why Sonic-related discourse tends to be so toxic, but it's really not that surprising if you consider how most people in the 90s were first introduced to Sonic:
combine that lingering first impression of rude 'tude and tacking the competition head on with a series that's constantly shifting tone and gameplay to the point its main series could be considered to made up of 3 or 4 different series and you've got an absolute recipe for disaster.

This is really cute, really well-intentioned, really catchy and a really good resource for parents and children everywhere, but that doesn't stop Elmo saying the word "racism" from being super jarring to hear - maybe not as much as Bugs Bunny saying "what's this? a joint?" but still jarring either way.
To this day I still can't figure out why Nintendo were pushing Rosalina so hard in the 2010s - that's basically the ultimate way to sabotage a character and make fans hate them.

Steve blends in to Smash much better when he's not the camera's focus.
the pig Mii head on Sans' body is very slightly terrifying.
My biggest worry about Steve was that his mining would make him better or worse on certain stages, but all terrain-specific mining really effects are the blocks, he still gets the same stream of iron; diamond and redstone on all stages.
I never really got the point of having a comic relief in a show or movie that's already a comedy.
