I think the best part of a Pizza Tower playthrough is when someone says "This reminds me of something..." and then they list off the most obscure 90s scrimblo game or Canadian cartoon imaginable.
i played um jammer lammy as a kid and was convinced that parades where pregnant mothers rush over to a hospital in mass while singing were a real thing
luckily, i did not come out of it with an urge to play babies or active chainsaws as guitars.
Twitter is not the only place where carefully articulated sentences get misinterpreted

if i had the means and budget to do so, i would 100% place on a bounty for gaming historians to find proof that rayman was used as a corporate mascot by ubisoft during the 90s/2000s and wasn't just given that title by fans because he's cartoon-styled.
i have a ton of folders i forgot to delete from scrapped roster projects, I cannot remember what they were for beyond that.

One thing I think Smash should nab from PSASBR is how it handled menu music - you would boot up the game, and a random character would be on the main menu, and there would be a theme song variant that suited that character's vibe - dark and foreboding for Kratos or Radec, or peppy and upbeat for PaRappa or Sackboy. There were 5 themes, each assigned to a set of characters.
I actually this would work EXTREMELY well with Smash's orchestral music because orchestra, being so old, has so many variations and uses. You could keep the regular Smash music for Link or Ryu, but then have a whimsical Disney sounding Lifelight for the likes of Mario and Pikachu; a horror/Night on Bald Mountain sound for Ridley or Ganondorf; an action movie sound for Snake or Cloud; and a Can-Can style frantic sound for someone like Piranha Plant or Pac-Man. Would also be really neat with My Music.

It's kinda cool how Bad Piggies just kinda uses the Nitro boxes from Crash. When I first got into Crash I remember thinking "woah, Bad Piggies ripped this off!", but now I have a bit more familiarity with copyright, Rovio got that one fair and square, you can't copyright putting the word "nitro" on a box of nitrogen.
IGDB might actually have the worst notification system ever lmao.
I think the funniest part of adding games to IGDB is making posters that go hard for games that do not, using my limited Kapwinging skills.
I think the saddest detail of the Crash 5 video, to me, is that CTRu wasn't made a live service game because Activision wanted it to be, but rather because the devs knew that was the only way the game would see the light of day and modified it as such to even get a greenlight in the first place.
That is just... wow. Capitalism, man. Adam Smith should've been turned into a baby and sent to the beginning of time by his fellow philosophers for proposing the concept.
The MySims rerelease is kinda surreal to me, because I've seen late 2000s games get remade and rereleased before, but I think this is the first time I've seen a late 2000s game repackaged if that makes sense? In the sense of the same content being marketed in a different way - I distinctly remember MySims being advertised as a power fantasy game, so it's a bit surreal to see it advertised as a "cozy game" in the same way that the ragtime slapstick chase game Pac-Man was remarketed to my generation as a techno dubstep rave, even though - unlike my Pac-Man example - cozy is an infinitely more apt description of MySims and how it should have been marketed in the first place.
Knowing that some people only know Pyoro as a leaker, well, I want to say it makes me feel old, but WarioWare is more popular now than it was when I was a kid, so it just makes me feel like a nerd.
I think it's not worth dwelling on individual actions within Smash discourse, it's all Nintendo and capitalism's fault that we acted the way we did, none of us were much better than anyone else, and generally caring about drama between random internet people with no fame whatsoever is cringe...
THAT BEING SAID, I still think a lot about how Geno fans tried to start a charity for the sake of getting Geno in Smash as some kind of bizarre reward.
If Sector Z and Corneria can be considered two different stages, then this is technically Ultimate's 5th new base game stage because of the screen-warping.

the patrick game looks like something i would've loved at age 6/7. even though it isn't my thing now, I was a big open world kid, and I would play relatively linear cartoon games like bfbb and mis ed ventures as sandbox games.

Something that annoys me about Indie World is that they always open with "Oh yeah, this is Blebling, you know Blebling, we worked on it for 6 years..." and there is no implication of what Blebling could even be for like 30 seconds. I think the gameplay footage should come first.

A long, LONG while ago, I submitted an alt for Banjo on a creation thread based on polar bears that's fur turned slightly green in captivity. I wish I knew about pizzly bears at the time, not because the "British cuisine" colour scheme of them is particularly appealing, but just because I like saying "pizzly".
This recent trend of outsourcing adaptations of Western properties to Japan kinda rubs me the wrong way - in the sense that something like "Rick & Morty: The Anime" feels like it was made to appeal to a Western otaku audienceand not be a distinctly Eastern spin on the IPif that makes sense? If I made a popular cartoon character, I'd take the chance at an authentic Japanese anime adaptation in a heartbeat, but I would want it to have a unique flairby and for Eastern audiencesand not just be... the same thing but with better cinematography and a lower frame rate.

I think people have completely forgotten that when Rick & Morty first came out, the common consensus was "No, it's not like The Other Things, it's way smarter" and you would be laughed out of the room for as much as comparing it to Family Guy or even South Park.

I think the hoarderposting yesterday got to my head, as I had a dream where I brought an SNES off of eBay, it was covered in food stains, and it came with a game called "Diddy Kong Country" - the cartridge was halved vertically and the words "Diddy Kong" seemed to be a printed paper hastily cut out and celotaped on top of the word "Donkey Kong". When I inserted it, it was a Mario game - not a Diddy Kong game - where you had to save Wario from a train that he was being cooked rotisserie on, and you saved him by plucking off one another's heads and swapping them. It then cut to stage where I played as Dixie Kong in full 3D, and had to escape Mr. Blobby through a factory filled with cutters while collecting Banjo-Kazooie honeycombs, and there was pink blood when she died. When I lost my final life, the game over screen was Space Invaders themed, and when I turned off the SNES, the music didn't stop playing. Diddy Kong did not appear. -
