I'm still working on that Mario rework video (I'm hoping to get it out by the end of September at absolute latest), but in the meantime, here's my ideas for a DK rework since I'm not planning on making a video about him because I'd change a lot less (and I didn't change much about Mario to begin with).
- Give him his canon voice.
- Giant Punch is moved to Forward Smash - It's not my favorite change, but I think it's for the best given a special I'm adding.
- Cargo Carry gets moved to Up Throw to better suit the animation.
- Neutral Special is now Barrel Throw, which is more akin to a command grab than a zoning tool - DK tries to trap the opponent in the barrel before throwing it. If he fails, the endlag makes it very ineffective at zoning out opponents. However, opponents hit by the barrel are knocked towards DK, allowing for followups.
- Side Special is Spinning Kong.
- Up Special is Barrel Cannon, which can be angled in three directions and doesn't have much range, but has a strong hitbox.
- Final Smash is the same, but its visuals are closer to the boss beatings in the Retro Studios DKC titles.
