I think it is valid to think Ultimate is better than any or even all other platform fighters, even if that reason is just "there's a lot of stuff", but it isn't valid to act like Ultimate's existence inherently makes those games worthless - yes, even Smash Wii U

Hmm, yes, I wonder what inspired Disney to use this naming convention for their alternate time-period special of their slice of life cartoon. There could not have possibly been any event or production a few years beforehand that would make the youthful mispelling "Growed" relevant in the 2003 children's cultural zeitgeist.

I've always disliked the concept of Smash support fandom "alliances". It's just gatekeeping disguised as being welcoming. On the outside it's "Waluigi and Isaac fans should team up!" but on the inside it's pretty clearly - by intent or otherwise - "If you don't also want Waluigi, you're not really on Isaac's team." or vice versa.

I like how the Panda Cup's Twitter banner only features like 3 characters people actually play as at a high level per game featured (not a diss towards competitive Smash players, mind you, moreso a diss towards Nintendo, who probably either made the assets or provided the style guide on which characters should feature, for being out-of-touch)

Disney's "Intercats" show doesn't feel like it came out too late but rather too early. It's like if Wreck-It Ralph came out in 2006, you're long past the "that's old and stupid!" phase, and almost reached the nostalgia zone for the subject matter - but you've still gotta hold it off a little.

I'm playing through NES Chip N' Dale right now, and most of the bosses thus far have made me say "hey, that inspired insert 2010s 2D platformer here!" Owl boss = owl boss in Tropical Freeze, Robot mouse boss = Tinker Knight in Shovel Knight, Spaceship boss = toy container eggmobile in Sonic Mania.

A few days ago I had a dream where CBeebies launched a pre-teen off-shoot seperate from CBBC called "Beebies" - the two shows they premiered with were a Bob the Builder sequel series and a horrific; totally inappropriate puppet show about abandoned bulldogs in a junkyard who's eyes were constantly falling off - the dogs were small hand puppets, but had the detailed textures and taxidermy eyes of a Dark Crystal or Dinosaurs character.

Also, Beebies didn't exist as a TV channel - instead it was like a franchise chain where the BBC would buy out small abandoned buildings, slap a Beebies logo sign on them, and then just put the episodes on loop on a CRT inside, free entry and no adult supervision
