The more I think about it, the more accepting I am of the prospect of Chuck E. Cheese in Smash.
Dude, Chuck E. vs. Freddy. I wouldn't care if Scott Cawthon funneled every royalty penny from that directly to the oil lobby, that's a dream matchup.
While I find LeBron in MVS really funny, I do overall think that they should've added the Monstars or Lola instead (preferably the prior) to represent Space Jam
While either Heck or the elders' cruise from Cruisin' is my ideal Rocko stage for NASB, I feel a stage based on the episode Rocko's Happy Sack would fit really well given 1. Rocko is a show that satirises consumerism often, making a supermarket a good locale to represent it; and 2. that episode is the one where Rocko is pushed to his most agressive.

It's kinda funny to me how Pulseman was designed to be unabashidly hyper-Japanese as a counter to the Westernised design and universe of Sonic, but then Game Freak would come out a decade later with Drill Dozer, which wears its Powerpuff Girls/Dexter's Lab/Teenage Robot inspirations on its pointy halved-drill sleeves, and then the next decade with Tembo the Badass Elephant, a Rambo parody.

The worst trope on TV Tropes is easily, by a landslide, "Hilarious in Hindsight". It's just the most vague possible connections that are in no way hilarious.
It's funny how this Smash Bros. website is the only place where I can say every Smash game after Melee is on par with Yoshi's New Island and Mario Pinball Land as some of Nintendo's worst titles without being shot.

Something I think would be cool in a future CTR or Mario Kart game is more platforming with the drift hop. I really like the brief semi-platforming segments in Clockwork Wumpa in CTRNF so seeing that expanded on as a major game mechanic would be rad.

It's kind of incredible how the criticism of SSBU's lack of direction applies equally to the roster and the gameplay. Like, if you said something relatively vague like "Ultimate tries too hard to make compromises between subsectors of the fandom where they're not needed", most SSBU critical people (or even fans understanding of the game's major criticisms) wouldn't know whether you're talking from a gameplay or roster perspective but also totally get it.
I really hate the "bad sequels are a result of malice" and "no sequels are a result of negligence" mentalities.
Trying to come up with a hook for a certain character for tomorrow's (today's? It's probably gonna start within the hour) SMSB job... man, this is hard.
Whenever people talk about the upcoming SMSB guest jobs, Inspector Gadget tends to come up - and look, I'm not trying to manipulate future votes one way or the other, but I am going to say that if we add Inspector Gadget, Caillou; Johnny Test; and the Teletubbies will all be elegible to recieve hats.
Honestly I feel the reason characters with minimal-to-no Nintendo ties don't appear in Smash much is just because they don't think they can market them to Nintendo fans, not some "sacred vision" on the Smash team's part.
Part of the reason why I think Smash should go multiplatform actually - obviously never gonna happen unless Nintendo goes the way of the Dreamcast, but man the opportunity to get PC/Xbox/PS associated characters, as well as the elimination of questionable choices driven by a Nintendo-centric fandom like Banjo over Chief and Mega Man before Ryu, would be so rad.
I really hate the idea that game studios' mascots inherently have to be scrimblos and vice versa. I see this a lot with Mega Man and Rayman fans, where they assume that just because they're that company's cuddliest IP they must inherently be the mascot despite them never being used in that context. "Mascot" more means say, Sonic being on the startup of the Sega CD, Mario presenting Nintendo's finanical reports, Namco having a giant Pac-Man statue outside of their building, or hell, Gex being next to the Crystal Dynamics logo on the Legacy of Kain games' boxes. Actually representing the company.

I do want to do stage jobs detached from fighters in SMSB, but I'm not sure how to handle music on them for one, and I also don't know whether the "hook" concept I want to impliment for Mario newcomers should also apply.

I like the Multiversus OST on its own, but it's not a good fit for a platform fighter IMO. I understand the theatrical approach given it's Warner Bros. and as such would primarily feature movie characters, but I feel a platform fighter needs something more blood-pumping and artificial-sounding. Though, I will say that the score does have an honourful, heartwarming sound to it that fits a teamwork based game well - especially for the CN stages
IMO Rivals is probably the gold standard for platfighter OSTs in terms of how it fits the gameplay.

While Fortnite having mature IPs is appreciated, I do wonder why they don't have that many IPs that directly appeal to their biggest (even if probably not intended) demographic of 7-to-12 year olds. The lack of a Disney or Pixar skin of any kind especially seems weird given how much Disney's loosening up on that sort of thing lately and the existence of Marvel/Star Wars/Fox content. Buzz Lightyear would be a perfect fit. -
