Sorry for an overly long serious post but I think we should separate art from artist… sorta. To completely 100% forget what a problematic artist did and how there could potentially be a bias in the work would be disingenuous at best and directly harmful at worse. But at the same time you can still engage with it knowing this and seeing it’s potential flaws that could come from the biases of the author, in the same way you can think a work has poor writing, for example, in some places but still enjoy it overall.
Also this is only vaguely related but if you’re adamant about “separating art from artist” completely 100% this means it shouldn’t just be problematic creators which isn’t good because some stories can be enhanced knowing the experiences and inspirations of the creator.
