I had a dream where the Project Dream thread added Marlin, and the debate over whether we should just have a giant air-breathing fish in the game or have him perched in Nigel the pelican's mouth was more intense than every Infinite debate combined.
So the Platform Fighter Exploration thread will be doing Bubsy soon?
In the context of Smash speculation, I consider Tingle a Tingle character and therefore not in direct competition with Impa/Ghirahim/Midna/Skull Kid/e.t.c., moreso comparable with the likes of Andy and Starfy.

I feel that if Wario were portrayed with Wario Land moves in Smash he'd probably come of as more of a wimp, even if less of a slob. Other than the shoulder bash, most of Wario's powers in the Land games are just him getting beat up.
In general when I see people ask for Wario to have a "Wario Land moveset" I read it more as them wanting him to have a "Wario Land attitude" - given that most Wario moveset revamps have few references to Wario catching fire or getting swolen by bees but a lot of moves relating to lifting strength; biceps; and such.
I have to admit, looking into who Jellybean is and why she's suddenly in memes was so relieving. I was expecting some major controversy, but no, the "hate" memes are (primarily) all in good fun and she's taking them well.
Nintendo Directs are just infomercials but instead of watching them when you stay up late, you stay up late to watch them.

I had another platform fighter related dream. NASB added Heffer - no Rocko, just Heffer - as a free DLC. He was added to the title screen (though Garfield, Nigel, and Shredder were still absent) and his stage was the legally distinct Rocko universe bus from the Learning with Pibby trailer.
I was just considering going into the MVS Rate Their Chances thread, submitting a single nom point for Flem & Earl, then never going on the thread again. I probably would've if I knew their policy on abstain votes. (and also didn't submit for it when it first opened)
I joined a NASB matchmaking Discord recently but still haven't had the courage to respond to any of the Switch matchmaking pings.
I think a lot of Sakurai fans don't realise the reason why criticism aimed at his games or attitude tends to be so harshly worded is because of how much of a protective shield is given to him - if people are gonna take offense to the most basic of criticisms, why not just go all-out South Park? You've gotta let that steam out somehow and they won't react any differently.

I've posted about this a few times recently, but I'm legitimately curious, and the fact my previous posts about the topic got little likes tells me there's gonna be quite a few people with answers: why do Disney Smash fan rosters tend to have such a heavy Disney XD/Disney Channel emphasis? Like, I know the new age Disney TVA stuff has quite the fandom and is very action/violence heavy even compared to a lot of the more mature animation under Disney's wing, but what propells Amphibia or the Owl House as being more worthy of taking a good chunk of the roster than say - the Muppets, the pre-renaissance movies, the Pixar shorts, the more brand-appropriate Fox acquisitions, or the Disney Parks OCs? Is there something I'm missing?

One thing I actually do like about Nintendo from a corporate/company side - and even think they do better than Sega - is that if a series is more popular overseas, (AKA here) they're willing to outsource new titles to English-speaking countries. Punch-Out!!, Metroid, and Donkey Kong are all series that have heavily Western-inspired aesthetics and - with the exception of DK - have generally done better sales-wise in Western territories, so it makes perfect sense in every way to outsource their titles to people who have felt both the cultures that spawned, and the cultures spawned by, these games IMO
I'm all for a future Smash doing a massive roster-purge to become a proper celebration of gaming history - however, such a purge shouldn't show mercy on the original 12 just because of seniority. I can't really justify having Samus, Fox, Yoshi, or even Kirby in such a roster - let alone the unlockables. I could maybe make an exception for Ness because of his influence on Pokémon and indie games but that's as far as I can really go - hell, the only 1P newcomers after 64 I could justify bringing back are Bowser, Villager, and (probably biased) Duck Hunt.
It's always kinda sad to look at the mini-documentaries you can find on YouTube about TV, movies, and theme parks - and then compare it to the general state of video game content.
I had a dream where Multiversus had a weirdly long trailer where the following was revealed
- The game's art style got a complete revamp to look pastel, chibi and Sanrio-esque
- They did a survey to decide whether Ace Bunny from Loonatics Unleashed should be added as Bugs' clone... through Strawpoll
- For some reason Bugs Bunny's Superman costume was added as a Superman alt and not a Bugs alt
- The Animaniacs were confirmed, they were stacked atop each other like Super Brawl 3's Rabbids
- For some reason the Warners' idle animation was Ralph the Guard giving them a slushie to drink.
- The Warners fought using a lasso
- Daphne was confirmed and portrayed unusally provocatively - like, worse than Smash's portrayal of Peach
- The horrible cocoon monster from this advert was in the game
- Garfield was confirmed for some reason and his model was very clearly using the style of the guy who did the Sonic Says 3D animations
We're submitting new non-platformer fighters, and a home stage for Dr. Mario - doesn't have to be a Dr. Mario stage though!

I feel that if any 2010s show is to get a rep in NASB other than the already-featured Loud House and Korra, it will probably be Fanboy & Chum Chum (unless you count Barnyard) - their show is looked upon fondly with hindsight compared to the rest of the 2010s lineup, but its early cancellation also feels a little more justified given how loathed it was upon debut unlike Harvey Beaks or Welcome to the Wayne, which are shows people like and always have liked, but drawing attention to (and therefore indirectly drawing attention to the treatment of) would be bad for the Nick brand unless there was a megaresurgence with internet communities and fan conventions like there was for Zim.
I feel the reason people are quick to disregard characters like Waluigi and Hugh Neutron as "joke/meme picks" is because they're viewing comical franchises through the lens used to view action franchises - specifically anime.
If Jimmy Neutron were a shonen anime, Hugh would be an absurd choice for NASB - but Jimmy Neutron isn't a shonen anime, it's a slice of life episodic children's cartoon; where every character's primary function is to either tell or cause jokes and action setpieces are played entirely for comedy.
If Mario were an epic JRPG series, Waluigi would also be an absurd choice for Smash - but Mario isn't a JRPG, it's a primarily party game/platformer franchise featuring silly; whimsical characters who tend to be on good terms regardless of moral alignment and have generally the same powers and power level.
I feel that when YouTubers encourage viewers to start using their PFP as an "army" it just ends up making them look unprofessional when you eventually get recommended a video from the originator of that PFP.
I posted a few days ago about how the pose of an old Margaret Thatcher statue looks just like K. Rool's - and honestly? I feel there's a relatively low chance it could be intentional - but less in the sense of "haha k rool starves the kongs like maggie starved the miners" or any other political commentary and moreso a somewhat naive "K. Rool is a British character, we should use statues of British rulers for reference!"
I feel my next Fortnite creation thread submission (of a series/IP) should be either The Flintstones or Wikipedia. Dunno what the music for Wikipedia would be though - not sure if using an audio reading would work if it isn't the not-so-E10+-friendly CBT article. Guess I could find other uncomfortable but appropriate articles, or "swaggy" ones with "epic" or "win" in them. -
