Out of curiosity, why would you cut Samus? Her series pioneered an entire genre of games (Metroidvania) so I personally feel she would be fine to come in the real ultimate celebration of gaming (I agree with the others btw, Fox, Yoshi, and Kirby should definitely get cut, I'm just not onboard with cutting Samus)

It depends on how big the roster is but I think she would make sense in an “ultimate gaming crossover” even if it had a limited amount of nintendo reps. She isn’t too popular but her influence is more than enough to get her in.

I feel that Samus is more of a "Nintendo fandom cult favourite" than a "major Nintendo corporate/history icon" (even when compared to Kirby or Fox) if that makes sense, and cult-classic characters in this context should represent either parts of gaming history that are cult-classic in nature as a whole (a microcomputer or pre-NES console rep for example), or be there for the purpose of representing the idea of a cult classic IMO. The Metroidvania genre would probably be better repped by Castlevania or an indie title how I'm looking at it
