I feel like there's a surprising amount of potential in rebooting forgotten IPs in different formats. Here's an idea I just came up with:
A Rent-A-Hero Netflix series.
I mean, it sort of writes itself. Rent-A-Hero was originally a Genesis game, but then there was a cancelled remake on Xbox too. However, aside from like one appearance in Fighters Megamix, he just like never turned up again.
In terms of tone, Rent-A-Hero has this really campy, self-aware sort of thing going on, and there's a small part of me that wants to see it as a bizarre cross between Kick-Ass, Better Call Saul and general SEGA stuff. Like, it seems like it could be a really cool thing - especially with a sort of Retrowave aesthetic to the soundtrack. (Also, a brawl taking place in some neon arcade with some thumping synths sounds like a really cool setpiece.)
I mean this is only one thing that I just came up with now and it would probably butcher the source material, but I mean... there's potential there.

But, I now realized that if someone finds my comment here, I could have heavy consequences.
