Literally every design decision made for the Pikmin 4 dog makes me go "why", but somehow it's still really appealing.
For all the weird and outdated elements of the "Melee Mega Roster" (Star Wars, excessive-even-for-pre-buyout-and-pre-COGH-speculation Rare rep, nonsensical-even-by-my-standards ideas like the Moon, no Pac-Man, e.t.c), some of it is legit based - like Mia over Isaac, Solo Pikmin, Metroid, Paratroopa, an OC Bowser form, Tingle, Redead, a Goron, and non-anthro Frogger.
I just got an Amazon gift card with an expiration date by accident, so I needed to rush to spend my £6 remaining credits before they go away tomorrow.
The pink custom Morshu hat will be here in due time.
I find it funny how, despite having Adult Swim branding and being based on the show library known for being edgier overall, Checkered Past is going to be way more accessible to the shows' original target audiences than Nickelodeon's nostalgia blocks were given its after-school timeslot and TV-PG rating for interstitial content.
Not sure if after-school was the best choice, that's a big time for children's programming where you should be showing new episodes of major shows instead of a nostalgia block, but at the very least not being midnight means it won't eat into the existing Adult Swim block, and will allow these shows to be seen by their original demographics. Mid-school would probably be the best place IMO - in the UK, CN used to air nostalgic programming there in the early 2010s, it'd still appeal to a primarily adult audience, but it makes for special "exclusive" programming for kids when they're sick or if (like me at that time) their school provides TV during lunch breaks.

People who say "game preservation is a waste of time because almost everything not legally available is bad shovelware" have not listened to enough Tim Follin.
I'm surprised that no mascot horror games have tried to make a character who serves as a pastiche of the old Walt Disney "Uncle Walt" persona and 50s Disneyland TV show - I guess it's just so old and poorly-preserved that nobody in the gaming market would be nostalgic for it, but the idea of a CEO who's business has a primary market of kids selling products with a "cozy, friendly" human persona is nightmarish when you think about it, much moreso than the Bozo the Clown/Barney types more commonly used in satire, even if Walt himself wasn't exactly the Hitler 2 people make him out to be.

I'm starting to dislike how people are portraying Peppino as this badass violent force of good instead of a deluded neurotic weirdo - like, part of the reason I love Pizza Tower so much is because of how unconventional and un-aspirational Peppino's personality is for a gaming protagonist, so seeing him undergo fandom Doomguyification where people act like he's admirable doesn't sit right with me.
I think people tend to overexagerate how little Smash changes characters because... it does, quite a bit in fact, it's just that most of its changes have primarily been balance-based instead of anything diegetic. 3DS/Wii U Bowser and Brawl Bowser are completely different beasts, even if Bowser's flame breath didn't become a projectile.
Bring back the act of turning bad cartoons into inescapable memes as soon as streamers or reviewers mention them in passing once. I am not seeing nearly enough Family Gal discussion.

I like how Chadtronic's Temu sponsor bit isn't hiding Temu's reputation for useless bootleg ****e at all, but instead using it as a selling point. In a weird way, I think it's the most sincere a YouTube sponsor has felt to me.
I have a feeling NASB 2 will be one of those "bad sequel, great game in it's own right" games, which I'm personally OK with.

IMO Rivals 2 is looking to have the best stages of any platform fighter on an aesthetic level - they all have actual setpieces to draw attention just like the first game, but they also look like a lived world you could explore if you broke into the Z-axis compared to how pretty much every other comp-designed stage in the genre (including Rivals 1) is either just an isolated island or weird flying plank of wood.

God, it is horrific how Smash fans treat games and characters themed around suicide and depression - I was rereading the response to my Miner Willy submission for Infinite, and everyone was up in arms over him and Freddi Fish when Sunny was right there to direct hate to. I genuinely don't know why so many people's first thought when they saw Ember leaked for NASB 2 is "what about the supermarket shooter?" - I had only really heard of Ember through the shootings, and I didn't immediately think that - just "Huh, another 2000s villain! Guess we're not getting Luna Loud now that the rock star niche is covered, haha."
In general, I think the internet has a really weird habit of latching on to "the dark side" of childrens' media and ignoring basically everything else - where, if it isn't something both universal and relevant-in-the-2000s like Shrek; Mario; or SpongeBob, the entire discussion will become an obnoxious loop of "wasn't that one sex joke weird?", "that behind-the-scenes creep should be locked up", or "damn, that eldritch-abomination boss fight went hard".

I know that "they didn't have to go THAT hard on the music for THIS game" is a bit of a cliche, and it really shouldn't be shocking to see great music made for the sake of meme freeware or cheap licensed tie-ins after a while, but god damn, Logan Kart 8, man. i started writing a lost media wiki article for the ugly sonic cut under the presumption that it may exist but probably doesn't, and then found a source saying for certain that the ugly cut doesn't exist right as i was finishing it off, so i had to scrap it because reworking the article to change every instance of "it is unknown if..." to "... does not exist" would be too tedious.
