I think most of it was done through sponsorship money but I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of it was personal funds he just took from “donations”.

Yeah, I don't actually believe he used the donation money for the 3DS and Wii U games, and in fact I am of the belief that he was just incompotent at running a charity, (not that that justifies it) but it still becomes a lot more awkward when contrasted with the current drama.
