I've always loved the idea of a composite clone - but now I'm kinda regretting that. I don't know if this fighter would be utterly useless or way overpowered, but either way he's certainly not balanced.

I think people who want Mario's moveset changed don't understand the concept of "shoto".
I absolutely disagree with Mario being an angry boy in Smash, but his moveset is fine for what it's trying to be and the one major change ever made to reference a recent game in it was likely for the worst.
The Smash Infinite thread is arguing about the elegibility of a character nobody submitted just because I mentioned in passing that he's more iconic than Banjo.

I read a Twitter thread recently about how "ugly" female characters rarely get starring or romantic roles in mainstream animated movies - an example given of indie animation featuring a less conventionally attractive female love interest was Wendolene from Wallace & Gromit. Hearing W&G described as "indie animation" really threw me in a loop - even though it is by all means true looking at Aardman's business structure and general global reach - since they're hugely popular in the UK.
Apparently people on the future game speculation thread are trying to push the idea that ATs can never be playable characters? This isn't a fan rule, this is just full-on fan delusion.

Honestly, this whole situation with Nintendo and Smash fans is kind of a capitalist wet dream.
Nintendo have a lucritive IP they use to advertise new games while creating very few new characters or locations - but treat its fans with little respect, specifically a sizable subgroup that's more than willing to try something new under the promise of being, and would make them a lot of money if, treated well, and at that a subgroup that's kinda required to buy all the DLC on basis of the way they play.
Unless you've got a Disney-esque brand image, there is no way any media conglomerate would pass on this.
