One of my biggest regrets in life is when one of my Discord friends told me the Sonic movie is a "turn off your brain kind of movie" and I didn't respond "I guess you're saying I should SCRAP my BRAIN?"

I think a TV adaptation of Smash would need to be a comedy - whether it'd be an action-comedy or just a full on sitcom I don't know, but these characters were never meant to go together so there's really no option but to play off of that awkward unfamiliarity the characters would have to one another's tones and customs.
I'm certain that at some point getting in Smash will be seen less as "the ultimate honour" and more just as selling out.

As somebody from Britain, I can say that if Nintendo wanted a Smash pick to appeal to Bri'ish audiences, (like Terry does to Latinos, Banjo does to yanks, and everyone else does for Japan) Crash Bandicoot is the ideal choice - though some kind of microcomputer rep (be it a fighter, stage, whatever) would also draw a lot of attention here too.
It's funny how a lot of the people who complain about "90s nostalgia bias" in any fandom tend to themselves have "00s/10s nostalgia bias" under the same logic.
I'm hoping that Chris Chan being put in an international spotlight again will result in Kiwi Farms getting the MegaUpload treatment.

As Smash has got more popular they should've been able to take more risks and include more niche fighters due to lower probability of failure, but unfortunately it seems to be going the opposite way.

I like how the Shantae Mii costume doesn't have a male model. I feel that was either mandated by WayForward (the existence of a "WayForward boob mandate" would not be even remotely surprising), or Namco knew what people were going to do with it.

I have this weird habit where whenever I see something funny, even if it's not a meme, and actually laugh I vocally exclaim "subject of joke memes".
So if you show me this wacky image for example, I will chortle and say "Knuckles Memes." in a casual tone of voice.
Instead of watching the rotting corpses of the Animaniacs puppeteered to make bad Trump jokes you can find on literally any Twitter feed again, listen to the Pinky & The Brain GBA game soundtrack. It slaps.

I just wrote a self-insert fanfiction about me creating Smash Bros. and getting screwed over by Nintendo corporate, then going to a bunch of other companies with the concept and also getting screwed over by them.

IMO SwSh isn't Sonic 06 bad, but it isn't anywhere near a high point for the series either - a solid attempt given the circumstances (budget being spent on Post Malone concerts, yearly deadlines, corporate mandates, a general lack of interest in Pokémon within Game Freak, first true HD game after working with underpowered handheld hardware for 2 decades) but they can do better. A lot of the criticisms are justifiable - especially when it comes to story writing, PR, and business models - but tend to get drowned out by asinine complaints about low poly trees, reused animations, and the National Dex.
Bundling older titles with newer releases, like in SADX and most non-maze Pac-Man games, should've become game industry standard a long time ago - though I disagree with the prospect of making them unlockable.
