If there's one game I wish wasn't a licensed game, it's McDonald's Treasure Land Adventure. Such a gem but so hard to recommend and so unlikely to be rereleased/remade. I wonder if Sega could just strip it of Ronald and co. and just call it "Clown Treasure Land Adventure" or something like that? Probably not.
The melodramatic tone of Smash Ultimate (Lifelight specifically) is such an odditiy because it feels like something literally everyone and their grandma would've made fun of at some point, but barely anybody acknowledges it.
I think my biggest hopes for a future Smash are:
Well thought-out mechanics (not necessarily fast, just well-made) and movesets
A less melodramatic aesthetic
Muddy Mole
In Nick Brawl, the shows where a side character gets in before the protag always has that protag absent from stage cameos. I don't know why that is, I guess it could either be "we're saving Arnold, the babies, & Eliza for possible DLC consideration" or "people would be distracted if they saw Arnold, the babies, or Eliza in a stage's background" - or even just some wild coincidence.
I keep getting this paint ad where a teenager shouts "Mum, can you please take down my pirate wallpaper?" and I keep mishearing it as "can you please take down my Pyra wallpaper?"
I'd be embarassed in that situation too.

Apparently the Simpsons' "Plusaversary" short is cursed and uncomfortable to watch.
When I get my next D+ subscription, it's the first thing I'm going to.
If I were Sakurai, my bias would probably be towards 10+ year old handheld one-offs nobody played.
In terms of a specific series... I dunno, probably either EarthBound or Crash Bandicoot. Crash would absolutely be the most heavily repped 3P if I made Smash.

I feel the reason why the Smash of Another Universe thread has yet to get a second Pokémon rep is because people keep submitting weird subversions of the official Smash's Pokémon reps - like Pokémon Trainer fighting alone or Mew and Mewtwo as a duo.

I think a lot of people, near-exclusively in Western territories, tend to generalise Sega as "The Sonic Company" - it's not as bad as how people generalise Rare to just Banjo and Conker, in fact it's a relatively harmless situation, but damn can it get annoying.
Namedropping something slightly niche that you like is not comedy.
Compared to NFTs, the metaverse seems harmless but also really stupid.
I do wonder why PM casual Bowser's Castle doesn't have the platforms that PM competitive Bowser's Castle has. There's probably a good reason but still.

It's weird that Namco would reject strong airs in Smash for "being too complicated" considering that the prescence of a strong and light button in Nick make it way less complicated if anything. In Smash I'd often forget jabs and tilts were a thing and struggled chaining combos in the air, in Nick I find it really easy to slide between light and strong attacks strategically and can pull off some basic combos with ease.
I thought the "teenagers texting" illustration was pretty cute until I realised they were both Reddit Snoos.

If saying "dead game" can piss people off, that probably means it's not a dead game.
If Plankton was in Nick Brawl, I'd want him to use the Krabby Patty robot - that way he's big enough to actually fight while staying true to the source, but small enough to keep the joke going and accurately represent the advantages and disadvantages he has in the show.
If people figured out how to do stage mods for NASB, that alone would get me to at least consider getting a new PC to switch to the Steam version. There are so many Smash stages I'd love to try in NASB's engine.

I think Nintendo kinda miss that the whole point of competition is that you learn from it - that applies to both, making games and how they expect people to play games.

The Mario & Sonic Olympics games wouldn't get nearly as much flak if the Olympics license wasn't attached. A sports compilation is really kind of an obvious choice for a Mario and Sonic crossover - one's known for speed and reflexes, the other is known for lifting strength and powers, makes sense to see which sports each would excell at - but sliding in imagery of the real world Olympics and its history makes what is really a mundane-at-worst concept seem unfathomably weird. -
