The point is not just to reflect lasers. It's a mental attack too. Most Falco players aren't that creative to begin with, they have their standard laser to **** stuff that once you force to them to adapt they get seriously off their game. If you make a Falco's laser functionally powerless - or at best a decreased functionality or useless as a zoning tool - then you have created a paradigm shift in the match up. Falcos on defense are generally awful, and then you can rush them over with offensive fair to **** combos.

It has never been about playing like a TAS Peach. It's always been about making your opponent feel like their weapons are useless. Lasers and dair can't be spammed, making the matchup fair.
This this this this.

Most Falco players are very repetitive. Imagine being good enough at powershielding so that when falco is just standing in place and spamming laser's he's not actually safe at all.

Oftentimes when I accidentally powershield like 2 of Falcos lasers in a row, they start to look like a fish out of ****ing water. They stop shooting lasers and start doing haphazard approaches which gives me the edge in the MU.

In my old age, I can keep up with a lot of these technical falcos because of my powershielding abilities, which rarely get recorded

I've experimented with that in the past. It's risky but can by good. Can you point out specific examples of this from videos? I never noticed Armada doing it on purpose.

But doesn't that just count who you beat and how good comparatively they are? I mean, I get that people don't try in pools, but not sure why lol.

Why did you "lol"?
because an Elo system isn't really good for determining the best players. it favors those who go to more tournaments. i've seen some 1300 elo smashers that would probably kick my ***.. lol

also. pools. LOLOL. i got kirby, zelda, and Young Link in pools. nuff said

people mess around in ranked matches, people mess around in games that "count"

i don't think anyone thinks ELO is the best system for smash. but on the whole, would end up pretty accurate. but lots of local tournies TIO files were never saved, and there are the people who can't go as often, but that applies to any and every ranking system

but it's done well and is surprisingly accurate for how recently they started doing it, and how many tournies they were actually able to get from the past.

i think you are hating on it a bit much for no reason

i'm not "hating on it." It doesn't hurt me in anyway at all. It just isn't going to do what the vast majority of ppl think it will do (accurately separate the best players from the worst)

Made a text file with everything using AR awhile back along with some other stuff I do when CGing.

-----------------------
Falco (15%-108%)
-----------------------

***U-Throw D-Smash***
Away: 0%-31% (Must Walk)
Behind: 0%-10%

*** No DI ***
End: (Pivot=109%-111%), (Non-Pivot=108%)

*** Up-Towards DI ***
End: (JC Grab=117%-118%), (Dash Grab=109%-111%)

(U-Tilt, Turnaround U-Tilt [Up&Towards DI] Ends @ 95%), (U-Smash KOs @ 118%-150% on FD)

--------------------
Fox (21%-96%)
--------------------

***U-Throw D-Smash***
Away: 0%-26% (Must Walk)
Behind: 0%-12% (11-12 is Picky)

*** No DI ***
End: (Pivot=104%-106%), (Non-Pivot=96%)
*** Up-Towards DI ***
End: (JC Grab=108%-109%), (Dash Grab=102%)

(U-Tilt, Turnaround U-Tilt [Up&Towards DI] Ends @ 97%), (U-Smash KOs @ 112%-145% on FD)
There you go. Not annoying, it's just that we've a plethora of information that can be found through searching. :ohwell: It's all good, though.

Where has Veril been lately? I could use his knowledge. I certainly appreciated it...
